Having excelled in the field of real estate for 30 years, Kerri Gemma earned a Bachelor of Arts in general social science from Providence College in Rhode Island in 1991 and is a graduate of the Realtors Institute. She is licensed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and holds further certification as an accredited buyer’s representative, seller representative specialist and real estate team specialist. Beyond her educational efforts, she has also been grateful for the support and guidance of the mentors she has had in the real estate field. In 1992, she began her career as a realtor with Global Real Estate, where she worked until 2008.
Subsequently, Ms. Gemma joined RE/MAX Properties as a realtor with the Gem Team in 2013. Staying with RE/MAX Properties, she moved to the Martone Group in Smithfield, Rhode Island, in 2020, where she remains to this day. As a realtor, Ms. Gemma’s duties are wide-ranging. She keeps her clients updated on new listings, provides market analyses, puts together offers and sales agreements, shows houses to clients, and sometimes will even go out of her way to paint the houses she works with. Looking toward the future, Ms. Gemma hopes to train someone to take over her client base, as she is beginning to consider retirement.
Holding considerable expertise in residential real estate and working with first-time home buyers, Ms. Gemma attributes much of her success to being a “people person” and always working to connect with her clients and following up throughout the home buying process. She treats her clients as if they were part of her family and will do whatever she can to be there for them and protect them. Furthermore, she is continually motivated by the desire to help people achieve their dreams and finds incredible satisfaction in helping first-time home buyers find homes that they didn’t think they would be able to achieve. Ms. Gemma is always particularly gratified to see the excitement of young children when their families find the perfect home.
Ms. Gemma operates under the motto “clients come first” and strives to remain up to date with developments in her field in order to best serve her clients. She has felt very blessed that the COVID-19 pandemic did not cause the real estate industry to crash, but rather the opposite. The real estate industry has thrived since the pandemic has had people looking for new houses with better spaces for remote work or homeschooling their children. To young and aspiring professionals, Ms. Gemma would advise getting to know your fellow agents as coworkers and to not treat other agents as competition, because you’re all working the field together.
For excellence in her career, Ms. Gemma has been inducted into both the 100 Percent Club by RE/MAX and the Multi-Million Dollar Club for Real Estate. Feeling strongly about giving back to the community she works in, she has also been presented with the Good Samaritan Award for her charitable efforts. Since 2007, she has served on the board of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, which was founded in 2004 in honor of Gloria Gemma, Ms. Gemma’s mother-in-law. Furthermore, every time she closes a sale, she donates a portion of the commission she makes to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the name of her client. In her free time, Ms. Gemma enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, Eddie, and her two children, Melissa and Eddie Jr.
