Carolina Escamilla

Carolina R. Escamilla was inspired to enter the field of engineering by her father, who was a builder and project manager and would often take her to his work sites. Embarking on her studies at Austin Community College, she obtained an Associate of Applied Science in applied mathematics in 2005 before matriculating at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, with honors, in 2008. Ms. Escamilla began her career as an assistant project manager for Tekoa Partners Ltd., from 2008 to 2009.

In 2009, Ms. Escamilla joined LOC Consultants, LLC, as an associate engineer, a role she held until 2011. She went on to hold the same position at Bury + Partners from 2011 to 2012 and became a project engineer at Alpaca Energy Solutions, Inc., from 2012 to 2015. It was during her time at Alpaca Energy that she achieved her license as a professional engineer. This career-defining moment inspired Ms. Escamilla to strike out on her own and establish ArchE LLC in 2012, where she serves as the principal and architectural engineer. Today, she has made a name for herself through her expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering.

Having accomplished much over the course of her career, Ms. Escamilla considers her most significant accomplishment to be starting her own business and running it successfully for over a decade. To keep abreast of new developments in her field, she maintains professional affiliations with professional organizations, including the Architectural Engineering Institute and the American Mathematical Society.  For her early academic achievements, Ms. Escamilla was recognized with induction into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Phi Theta Kappa.

Alongside her work as an engineer, Ms. Escamilla is an accomplished songwriter, author, and poet. She also is the owner of the record label Maktub Studio, where she publishes her own songs, and she recently signed a publishing deal for a poetry book. Most proudly, Ms. Escamilla is the mother of two daughters.
