Jonna Switzer

Jonna Lynne Switzer, MBA, PMP, has spent more than 25 years in financial services, accounting, and technology. Since 2022, she has applied her professional prowess as managing director at Ernst & Young LLP (EY), a multinational professional services and accounting company, where she began her tenure as a manager in 2018. Consistently advancing throughout her career, she became a senior manager with EY in 2019.

Today, as managing director with EY, Ms. Switzer is responsible for working with clients and managing a team of advisers. She ascribes her success to the nonstop support and encouragement of her parents and her sister to pursue education and professional growth. Her innate drive to excel and her devotion to continuous learning have also been instrumental in achieving her goals, starting with laying a solid educational foundation. After completing coursework at Hillsdale College, Ms. Switzer earned an associate degree from the University of Maryland. She matriculated at Oakland University, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in management information systems with a minor in accounting and applied technology in business in 1999. In 2007, she graduated from Walsh College with a Master of Business Administration. In addition to her degrees, she earned a project management professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute Inc. in 2022.

At the start of her career, Ms. Switzer served in the U.S. Navy as an interior communications specialist in Operation Desert Storm from 1992 to 1996. After her honorable discharge, she worked for the Lear Corporation as a software engineer from 1997 to 2000. Following this, she spent seven years at ADP, rising to the level of senior program manager. From 2007 to 2014, she gained invaluable experience with Ally’s Dealer Services Group, after which she spent two years as the managing director of the iC Consult Group GmbH from 2014 to 2016. With Socium Innovations, she was a principal consultant from 2016 to 2017, subsequently spending a year as a technical project manager with Fidelity Investments. In 2017, Ms. Switzer was the director of identity and access management for the City of Boston, prior to starting with EY in 2018. Further, in 2024, she was featured in “View from the Top: Empowered Women, Empower Women with EY and Kenvue” by the Executive Women’s Forum. As an active member of her industry, she has been a member of the Project Management Institute since 2004 and a charter member of Applied Technology in Business since 1997.

Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Switzer considers her military service to be her most notable. She earned numerous awards for her service, including a Good Conduct Medal, a Gulf Medal, and a Junior Sailor of the Year award. As one of the trailblazing women who served in the U.S. Navy on board a ship during the first integrated Navy boot camp, she went on to be part of the very first applied technology in business class at Oakland University. Also at the university, Ms. Switzer earned an Applied Technology in Business Scholarship and an Innovation in Business Award from the dean of the Oakland Business School. In 2006, she received a Bravo Award for Outstanding Service and Client Satisfaction from Sales Executive.

Looking ahead, Ms. Switzer hopes to participate more in her local community by serving on a local board and contributing to the betterment of society. With a deep sense of gratitude toward veterans stemming from her military service, she hopes to be more involved in helping them. In her professional career, Ms. Switzer looks forward to continuing to provide exemplary advisory services for her clients at EY. Throughout her life, she has been grateful for the mentorship of her family members and teachers. She is thankful to her parents, maternal grandparents, aunts, and uncles, who taught her valuable life lessons in addition to offering their support. Moreover, Ms. Switzer is the very proud mother of two children, Steven and Ryan.
