Jennifer Nam, MBA, is a business leadership expert currently serving as the interim chief financial officer of the Philadelphia Parking Authority. She has been with the Philadelphia Parking Authority since 2022 and brings with her more than 25 years of experience in accounting and business management. In her current role, Ms. Nam’s work is varied and includes overseeing all financial functions and office personnel for the organization responsible for all on-street, off-street, and airport parking within the city of Philadelphia, in addition to red-light camera enforcement and other safety and quality of life measures. Historically, she has preferred to work with nonprofit organizations and describes her motivation as a desire to help others and improve the world rather than focus solely on profit. Her community-oriented professional philosophy carries over into her emphasis on helping the Philadelphia Parking Authority operate with organizational and financial integrity in order to better serve all stakeholders and create a safer and more accessible city.
Before joining the Philadelphia Parking Authority, Ms. Nam’s career was centered in the health and long-term care industries. She began her career as a staff accountant for a nursing home, eventually rising to become an accounting manager and later the company’s vice president of finance. Between 2011 and 2019, she was the financial planning and analysis director for Enclara Pharmacia, a Philadelphia-based pharmacy benefits manager serving more than 400 clients in hospice and palliative care spaces. In 2019, she left Enclara Pharmacia and was named the chief financial officer at Mainline Senior Care Alliance, a nonprofit health care system serving patients and families throughout the Philadelphia metro area.
Mainline Senior Care Alliance offered access to comprehensive care at all levels, including education and preventive health care, an alliance of the area’s top acute care inpatient facilities, active assisted living communities, and end-of-life hospice care. As the chief financial officer, Ms. Nam oversaw operations, planning, and goals for the network’s broad spectrum of care in addition to its community philanthropy program. In 2021, she departed Mainline Senior Care Alliance to become the director of financial planning and analytics for the Crozer-Keystone Health System, a county hospital network built from four Delaware County facilities. Ms. Nam would remain in her position with the Crozer-Keystone Health System through early 2022, when she accepted her current role with the Philadelphia Parking Authority.
Ms. Nam is a graduate of the Fox School of Business at Temple University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 1992. She has continued to pursue professional development and continuing education opportunities throughout her career, and in 2020, she completed her Master of Business Administration at William Howard Taft University. She has developed a reputation for expertise in financial analysis and organizational development throughout her career as a high-level executive, including savvy implementation of operational results in the decision-making process.
As a leader in the health care industry, Ms. Nam is skilled at helping companies manage overhead, build strong community and industry reputations, refine their brand images, and improve patient and provider loyalty through improved efficiency and high-quality patient care. She is active in several professional organizations for women in finance and industry and enjoys mentoring others. Eventually, Ms. Nam hopes to open her own nursing home with the goal of using her industry experience to improve the lives of others in the community.
Outside her professional life, Ms. Nam is an active member of the congregation at the Church of the Incarnation. She is known for her involvement in the church’s food ministries, including their community food pantry, canned food drives, and sandwich program serving the church’s homeless neighbors. Ms. Nam has been honored for her work with the Church of the Incarnation and recognized by church leadership for her continued service. In her leisure time, Ms. Nam is an avid distance runner who completes at least two half marathons annually and describes her participation in the sport as something that helps clear her mind.
