Skilled at math for as long as she can remember, Janice Schlieker is a natural at accounting. She has been taking care of the books from her first job as a cashier at a movie theater while she was in high school, and is currently parlaying her expertise into her roles as an accountant at Timberline Church, an office manager at Energy Solutions, Blessing Ranch, and Poudre Aviation, a bookkeeper at Jim & Dave’s Appliance, and a consultant at Longaberger Basket Co. Her day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing every financial aspect of the various organizations, ensuring everything runs smoothly from a monetary standpoint, and handling reconciliations.

Ms. Schlieker’s passion outside of numbers is religion. One of the highlights of her journey thus far was visiting a mission field in Papua, New Guinea, and doing some teaching there. Other notable engagements include teaching and serving on the planning committee of the North American Christian Church Convention and serving as the vice president of the Fort Collins Chapter of the University Religious Directors Association. Ms. Schlieker furthered her standing with these organizations by earning a Bachelor of Theology in the New Testament at Ozark Bible College, by completing master’s work at the Emmanuel School of Religion, and by becoming trained in crisis intervention.

Looking to the future, Ms. Schlieker intends to write and publish more. She already wrote a chapter on leadership in “Taking Education Higher,” but she has some books in her head that she’d like to get out. The first, “Silent Tears,” will be about how to better deal with depression in the church. The second, “To Humble Walk,” will cover how to deal with tragedy in life. Ms. Schlieker is also working on an article on how to utilize QuickBooks for nonprofits and churches. Essentially, her goal is to expand her reach so that her knowledge can help more people.

When Ms. Schlieker isn’t working, she enjoys crocheting, flying, photography, reading, flower gardening, running, and playing the French horn. She is currently a member of a number of local community orchestras and brass groups and the local running club.
