Janet Quin

Retired for nearly a decade, Janet Martin Quinn, RN, SPHR, MBA, of Arlington, Tennessee, had an extensive, exciting, and effectual career in nursing and human resources. She commenced her professional path in 1972 as a registered nurse and enjoyed a journey that spanned more than 40 years.

With experience in various nursing specialties, including medical-surgical, psychiatry, alcohol and drug treatment, and home health care, Ms. Quinn also worked in nursing homes for seven years, which included a stint as director of nursing for several years. Her dedication to continuous learning and excellence earned her a case management certification and a lifetime senior professional in human resources (SPHR) certification. Interestingly and equal parts impressive, she holds a Master of Business Administration in aviation-airway management and operations from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a bachelor’s degree in professional studies with a focus on health care management from the University of Memphis, and a nursing diploma from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing.

As part of her varied experience, from 1985 to 2014, Ms. Quinn was a senior benefits adviser at FedEx Express. In this role, she managed disability and medical cases, conducted clinical audits, and led multiple project management initiatives. She was instrumental in giving presentations on benefits and troubleshooting and was active in the JCAHO Committee of Businesses and the UB-82 Home Health Committee at FedEx. Throughout her career, Ms. Quinn was recognized for her ongoing contributions and leadership. To name a few honors, she received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award, and was named a Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurse. These accolades further highlight her commitment to patient care and her impact in the fields of nursing and human resources.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Quinn has been a volunteer special needs nurse since her retirement in 2014. Her passion for nursing and helping others still drives her. Believing strongly in the importance of listening to others’ needs, she attributes her success to this vital character trait, her boundless energy, and her love for overcoming challenges.
