Eartha L. Levy

Across 30 years marked by expertise in obstetrics, mental health, nursing education and life support training, Eartha L. Levy has cultivated a distinguished and multifaceted career in nursing and community service. She currently serves as the chief executive officer and a life support education specialist at Pulse-Keepers CPR, a company she founded in 2018. In this capacity, Ms. Levy manages advertising services, social media platforms, client outreach and class scheduling while personally instructing courses that emphasize labor and delivery — her clinical specialty. Pulse-Keepers CPR has become a trusted resource for physical life support and mental health first aid training services. Ms. Levy considers founding the company to be the most significant milestone of her professional journey. Despite recent challenges related to local zoning regulations, she remains committed to her mission, adapting her approach and advocating for small business owners.

Concurrently with her entrepreneurship at Pulse-Keepers CPR, Ms. Levy has taken on the role of adjunct professor at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing since 2020. She is recognized for making learning engaging and relevant by connecting theoretical concepts to real-world clinical scenarios. Ms. Levy takes great pride in shaping the next generation of nurses through her innovative, simulation-based approach to instruction. Students have consistently noted her ability to bridge classroom knowledge with practical application.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Ms. Levy’s early interest in nursing was inspired by her family’s deep roots in healthcare. Her mother worked as an intensive care unit nurse, and her grandmother was a midwife. Ms. Levy grew even more curious about labor and delivery nursing when, at age 5, she witnessed her niece’s birth. Since then, she has fostered a philosophy that emphasizes empathy and thoughtful understanding of interpersonal dynamics within healthcare settings.

From 2020 to 2024, Ms. Levy was president of Levy’s Education Assistance Ltd., further demonstrating her leadership in educational program development. Other recent roles include tenures as a staff nurse at Wellstar Health System and as a clinical nursing instructor at Kennesaw State University’s Wellstar College of Health and Human Services. Ms. Levy’s extensive experience in academic settings includes time as a clinical instructor at Clayton State University and Georgia State University Perimeter College, a visiting professor at Chamberlain University and adjunct faculty at Piedmont Technical College. She began developing her distinctive approach to healthcare education as the owner of Levy’s Resource Center from 2007 to 2018.

Ms. Levy also developed her background in clinical work as a registered nurse at Rockdale Medical Center, Wellstar Medical Center, DeKalb Medical (now Emory Healthcare) and Favorite Healthcare Staffing. She started her civilian career as a licensed vocational nurse at Gulf Coast Health Care and the Central Park Nursing Home in 1996.

Extending her commitment to service beyond civilian positions, Ms. Levy served as an administrative specialist with the U.S. Army and as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve from 1988 to 1996. Her military experience instilled discipline and adaptability that have informed her subsequent professional endeavors.

A strong foundation for success is evident in Ms. Levy’s academic achievements, beginning with training in licensed vocational nursing at Lamar University in 1996 and an Associate of Science in registered nursing from Georgia State University Perimeter College in 2000. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University in 2009, followed by a Master of Science in nursing education at Clayton University in 2014. Ms. Levy is currently pursuing a doctorate in nursing practice at Purdue University Global. Additionally, she is an ordained minister and is working toward scuba diving certification following an inspiring snorkeling experience during a travel nursing assignment in Hawaii.

Throughout her career, Ms. Levy’s expertise has earned her entry into several noteworthy organizations relevant to her industry. She is a lifelong member of the National Black Nurses Association, an instructor with the American Heart Association Instructor Network and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, and a member of the National League for Nursing and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Civic engagement is central to Ms. Levy’s career. She regularly volunteers by providing hands-only CPR training to the public at health fairs — an initiative that enhances community safety and awareness while reinforcing her commitment to service.

In her personal life, Ms. Levy is a loving mother to four — Anthony, Rasul, Ali and Layla — and grandmother to two. She visits her grandchildren frequently and enjoys dancing, quad roller-skating, snorkeling, scuba diving and spending time with her two King Charles spaniels.

In the coming years, Ms. Levy plans to expand her impact through continued pursuit of advanced academic credentials and broader community outreach. She aims to take part in further life support and mental health first aid training initiatives. Above all, she is dedicated to lifelong learning and service, with no intention of fully retiring.
