DIANE FALLIER

Diane Fallier

With more than 30 years of expertise, Diane Fallier is a distinguished leader in computer networking, cybersecurity, and academia, dedicated to advancing the field through innovation and education. She is currently a professor at Nashua Community College in New Hampshire, where she oversees four programs and serves as program coordinator for the information technology curriculum. In this role, she designs the curriculum, determines course sequences, and establishes program outcomes to prepare students for careers in IT, technical support, and cybersecurity. She is also working toward earning National Security Agency recognition as a center of academic excellence. 

Ms. Fallier’s career spans roles as an instructional designer at Kronos Incorporated from 2019 to 2020, an information developer at Amazon Robotics from 2016 to 2019, and a senior technical trainer at Demandware from 2013 to 2015. She also served as IT director at Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School from 2011 to 2013 and adjunct faculty at Nashua Community College from 2012 to 2013.

Earlier, Ms. Fallier was a course developer at Red Hat in 2009 and a contract software engineer at ApollSystems in 2008. Her career began at Sun Microsystems, where she held various roles from 1995 to 2008, including software engineer and educational developer. A career highlight was developing 240 hours of training materials for the Solaris 10 release, which was adopted company wide. She previously worked as a trainer and course developer at Concurrent Computer Corporation from 1992 to 1995, a training consultant at Wang Labs from 1986 to 1991, and a trainer at Intel from 1984 to 1986.

Laying a solid educational foundation, Ms. Fallier earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of New Hampshire, followed by a master’s degree in computer science from Southern Methodist University. She holds multiple certifications, including AWS academy graduate and educator credentials from Amazon Web Services, as well as Cisco CyberOps associate and CCNA designations. She is actively involved with the Association for Computing Machinery and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. 

Beyond her professional work, Ms. Fallier is passionate about music and performs with the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra, Hollis Town Band, and Merrimack Valley Flute Choir. She is also engaged in community service, contributing to the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire and the Congregational Church of Hollis. 

Reflecting on her path, Ms. Fallier discovered her passion for teaching while working at Southern Methodist University’s computer center. Encouraged by a student, she pursued a career in training, leading to opportunities that shaped her path. Moreover, her dedication to excellence has earned her awards from Intel Corporation and Sun Microsystems. She attributes her success to a relentless pursuit of knowledge, ensuring that her instruction is accurate and accessible. In her personal life, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and playing the flute, oboe, clarinet, and saxophone. In the coming. years, she looks forward to retirement but is still committed to lifelong learning and community involvement. 

In advising aspiring professionals, Ms. Fallier emphasizes adaptability and resilience. She advocates for focusing on challenges that can be influenced while maintaining a pragmatic attitude toward circumstances beyond one’s control.
