Adept in many areas of insurance including group health and group long-term disability insurance, businessowners insurance, cooperative apartment and renters insurance, Diana J. Landes is a former product director at Johnson & Johnson Company and is president of her own company, D. & L. Landes Company, in New York. She is responsible for managing the sales of cooperative apartment and renters insurance, group health and disability insurance, assisting clients with health, property and casualty business insurance, and handling welfare benefit plans. Ms. Landes is now semiretired.
Prior to the start of her professional career, Ms. Landes pursued a formal education at the State University of New York at Buffalo, earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics, summa cum laude, in 1975. She then attended Columbia Business School in New York, where she attained a Master of Business Administration in 1977. In addition to these academic honors, Ms. Landes is a licensed property and casualty insurance broker and life and health insurance broker in the state of New York.
The highlight of Ms. Landes’ career was representing her father’s client as a member of the Church Medical Insurance Committee. Ms. Landes has also been involved with numerous organizations related to her field such as the Columbia Business School Alumni Club of New York, the University at Buffalo Alumni Association and the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Landes was trained by her father, Leo Landes, who was in the insurance industry for 40 years. He was a self-made agent who worked with large groups. Diana worked for her father’s firm for 10 years, and co-founded her current company with him. She was very fortunate to have had a father that was supportive, and she is motivated by the drive to continue to help others. In honor of her myriad achievements, Ms. Landes is a recipient of the coveted Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and was selected for inclusion in the 71st edition of Who’s Who in America. In her spare time, she has been known to enjoy listening to music, watching movies and reading.
