Damalie Catherine Akuamoah has established herself as a distinguished holistic wellness coach, currently excelling as the founder of Feel Blissful Wellness since 2019. In this role, she supports diverse clinical trials and conducts one-on-one sessions with clients, focusing on helping women of African descent navigate wellness. She is also committed to diversifying the wellness industry, ensuring that solutions are inclusive and tailored to the needs of marginalized communities.

In addition to leading Feel Blissful Wellness, Ms. Akuamoah serves as the global clinical trial diversity program lead at Merck & Co. Inc., a position she has held since 2022. In this capacity, she is responsible for enhancing diversity within clinical trials, ensuring broader representation and equitable access to health care solutions. Before this, she contributed to clinical operations in oncology and general medicine at Merck from 2014 to 2022. She began her tenure at Merck as a senior program coordinator and epidemiology scientist from 2012 to 2014.

Ms. Akuamoah further developed her expertise in public health in her role as a program coordinator for infection prevention and control at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia from 2011 to 2012 and as an epidemiology research project coordinator at Drexel University during the same period. Earlier in her career, she garnered experience as a research assistant at Drexel University and The City College of New York, the founding institution of the City University of New York system.

Establishing a strong academic foundation, Ms. Akuamoah earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a concentration in medical studies from The City College of New York in 2009, followed by a Master of Public Health in epidemiology from the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health in 2012. She is also a certified health and wellness coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Akuamoah is actively involved in organizations such as Habitat for Humanity International and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Reflecting on her path, her personal experiences with stress and toxic work environments have fueled her passion for holistic wellness, inspiring her to create transformative experiences for her clients. In advising aspiring professionals, she encourages women entering the field to take a comprehensive approach, addressing all aspects of life to create meaningful change. She emphasizes the importance of supporting clients, groups, and communities with a well-rounded perspective to foster lasting positive impact.

In her personal life, Ms. Akuamoah enjoys traveling with her family, gardening, and attending retreats. She is supported by her spouse and two children, who have been integral to her success. Looking to the future, she aims to significantly impact the lives of Black and brown women by forging strategic partnerships within the community. She envisions expanding her business beyond individual clients to corporate wellness programs designed specifically for African American women, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity around this initiative.
