Taking charge of every step in the process of listing and selling residential property, Cynthia G. Frye provides more than 30 years of experience to her position as the managing broker of Cynthia Frye Realty, a company she established in 1998. She has operated as a one-woman office during her tenure, dedicating her time to setting up appointments to view homes, taking and uploading pictures for the real estate listings, as well as successfully executing her own accounting, bookkeeping and marketing. Previously serving as a real estate agent with Century 21 Real Estate LLC for nearly a decade, Ms. Frye was inspired to enter the profession upon buying her first house with an inexperienced realtor and realizing her genuine interest in the field would allow her to prosper.
After completing broker and managing broker licensing classes with the Century 21 office in Richton Park, Illinois, Ms. Frye pursued a formal education at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2013. During her studies at the aforementioned university, she was inducted into the Tau Sigma National Honor Society. Following these accomplishments, she concluded her academic efforts with a master’s degree in international real estate from Florida International University in Miami. Furthermore, Ms. Frye is affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise, including the Chicago Association of REALTORS and the Main Street Realtors.
In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Frye has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. During her time with Century 21, she was notably recognized as the Rookie of the Year in 1991, the Top Producer in 1995 and a Multi-Million Dollar Producer from 1992 to 1996. Additionally, she is celebrated as a Top Selling Agent and was presented with the Miz Entrepreneur Award at the inaugural Black Women Rock Awards ceremony at Governors State University in 2013. A testament to her unwavering commitment to her craft as well as her trusted service, Ms. Frye is especially proud to have had clients from the onset of her career refer their children to her so that she could provide them with the same care and counsel she has offered for so many years before.
Attributing her success to her faith, her dedication, her professionalism and her education, Ms. Frye faced many tribulations in her life that never derailed her determination to improve her life and the lives of those around her. Having begun her tenure with Century 21 as a single parent of five children, she tragically lost one of her sons, Derrick, a U.S. Marine, who took his own life in 2005. This devastating experience led her to her volunteer work with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Out of the Darkness Walks, which raise awareness about suicide and depression while funding research and resources that support people affected by suicide, as well as survivors of suicide. Looking toward the future, Ms. Frye intends to open a real estate school in June 2020, where she can contribute her wealth of knowledge to the next generation of realtors while continuing to encourage the professional endeavors of her wonderful children, Gigi, Michael, William and Mitchell.
