Who's Who of Professional Women

CYNTHIA ANDERSON

A seasoned real estate veteran backed by nearly 30 years of expertise, Cynthia Anderson, SRES, ABRM, E-Pro, excels as a managing broker and realtor with the Anderson Realty Group LLC in Oxford, Connecticut, which merged with her office at Weichert Gateway nearly five years ago. As a realtor, she specializes in working with new buyers, second purchases and housing upgrades to help her clients obtain their dream home. Over the years, Ms. Anderson has also gained valuable experience in the field as a real estate agent with Prudential, and parlayed her knowledge to others as the former owner and operator of Anderson Group Real Estate School.

A licensed educator and senior real estate specialist, Ms. Anderson completed the e-Pro certification in pursuit of her career. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she serves as a board member for the Valley Board of Realtors. She became involved in her profession because she was always in sales and marketing throughout her adult life, and whatever classes she took in college were always in marketing and sales. In the past, she worked for a company that did automation and did sales for direct advertising. For her professional achievements, Ms. Anderson was recently recognized as a Top 10 Percent Zillow Premier Agent.

What Ms. Anderson believes has played a role in her success has been that she works hard and loves the business, as well as the type of people that she works with; new buyers have been the bulk of her clientele. She believes that most people choose real estate as a short-term job without the concept of it being a career; on the contrary, there is a lot that goes into becoming a realtor, let alone a broker, with a 70-80% passing rate for certification. Most of Ms. Anderson’s industry has now shifted to online, a big change from when she first started.

Born in Detroit to business owners Alexander James and Emma Balas, Ms. Anderson recalls playing in the sandbox and answering her father’s business calls as a young girl. In her spare time, she plays the piano, and spends time with her dog and two cats. She also formerly bred Bernese Mountain dogs and is the proud mother of two sons, Scott and John. Moving forward, Ms. Anderson aims to experience the continued growth and success of her career.
