Colleen Muldoon

With nearly three decades of experience, Colleen Muldoon has established herself as an expert in human resources (HR). Since 2019, she has served as vice president of team member engagement at Storr Office Environments. In this role, she consults with other organizations within the company’s controlled ownership, manages human resources for nine different companies, and oversees a team of four. She takes pride in being instrumental in developing a systematic approach to performance feedback, integrating methodologies like situational leadership and other key components. This comprehensive quarterly feedback process has created a consistent and effective way of supporting team members’ growth and development, reflecting her commitment to fostering workplace excellence.

In addition to her current role, Ms. Muldoon became a minority owner of Storr Office Environments in 2021. The company specializes in selling new and used office furniture and providing workspace solutions for industries such as corporate, health care, education, and government. Her journey with Storr began in 2011 when she joined as human resources director, a position she held until 2018. Her earlier roles include serving as human resources manager at Hosted Solutions from 2009 to 2011 and as an HR generalist at Railinc from 1999 to 2009. Her career began at the University of North Carolina, where she worked in the human resources department from 1992 to 1994 while attending school.

Ms. Muldoon laid a strong academic foundation, earning a Bachelor of Arts in advertising from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994. She also pursued coursework at the State University of New York at Alfred. She is actively involved in civic organizations, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity International and serving as a tutor at local schools. At Storr Office Environments, she co-chairs the We Care Committee, further showcasing her commitment to community engagement and employee well-being. Under her leadership, the company has earned 12 Healthiest Employer Awards, reflecting her dedication to promoting health and wellness in the workplace.

Reflecting on her path, Ms. Muldoon began her human resources career at the University of North Carolina, where she worked in the administration office of the HR department while attending school. It was there that she discovered her passion for HR, appreciating its potential to create career pathways and positively impact people’s lives. After graduating, she expanded her HR expertise by working with both small and large companies, gaining valuable experience across diverse organizational environments.
