Christina Maurice

Christina Maurice has built a thriving career in accounting and tax preparation by combining technical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for helping others manage their financial responsibilities. As owner of Alexander Accounting LLC, she provides a broad range of financial services designed to support individuals, small businesses and corporations alike. From tax preparation to payroll and bookkeeping, she approaches each client with a commitment to precision, consistency and education. Known for encouraging proactive financial planning, she advises small business owners to maintain quarterly bookkeeping to avoid the stress and disorganization that often accompanies year-end financial sorting.

Ms. Maurice’s journey into the accounting profession is grounded in strong academic preparation and practical experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and auditing from Kaplan University and an associate degree in general studies from Colorado Technical University. These credentials gave her the foundational knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of accounting systems, tax regulations and payroll administration. She also became a certified payroll professional through PayrollOrg, a designation that enhances her qualifications in workforce and compensation management.

Prior to founding Alexander Accounting LLC, Ms. Maurice gained valuable experience in bookkeeping and payroll through positions in both small businesses and corporate environments. These roles sharpened her ability to manage diverse financial systems and set the stage for her transition into entrepreneurship. Her first business endeavor, CMS Tax Service, began as a seasonal tax preparation service offered alongside a full-time accounting job. This dual role allowed her to steadily build a loyal client base. Eventually, the formal creation of her limited liability company signaled the expansion of her services to include not only tax filing but also bank reconciliations, invoicing, bill payments and monthly maintenance reviews.

Ms. Maurice’s dedication to professional growth is reflected in her involvement with organizations such as the National Association of Tax Preparers and local Chambers of Commerce. These affiliations help her stay informed of evolving tax laws and business trends while building meaningful professional relationships. She also believes in giving back to her community. Her volunteer work with One Million Cups as a community organizer provides support to entrepreneurs, and her involvement with Madison Heights Food Pantry helps address food insecurity in her region.

Client communication remains central to Ms. Maurice’s business philosophy. She places high value on accessibility and responsiveness, offering guidance year-round through both virtual platforms and face-to-face consultations. She provides brief advice at no charge for minor inquiries and ensures transparency when transitioning to paid services for more involved work. Her approach fosters trust and long-term client retention, positioning her firm as a reliable resource during and beyond tax season.

Ms. Maurice is working toward becoming an enrolled agent with the Internal Revenue Service. This credential would grant her the authority to represent clients during audits and other tax-related proceedings. While she has considered pursuing a CPA license or studying tax law, her immediate goal is to secure the enrolled agent status to better serve her clientele. Her career reflects persistence, thoughtful growth and a genuine interest in the financial well-being of others. Her ability to balance technical skills with personal connection has not only built a successful business but has also made her a respected figure in her community.
