M. CHRISTINA GARCIA

Inspired to a career in security by her father, who had his own security company, M. Christina Garcia first earned an associate degree in business administration, management and criminal justice from Heald College-Fresno in 2008 and is a licensed instructor through the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. Following her graduation, she established Garcia’s Security Training & Live Scan, the precursor to Garcia’s Security Training, where she has served as president since 2013.  From 2013 to 2017, she also served as the human resources manager and security operations manager for Marina Securities Services. Ms. Garcia became the chief executive officer of Garcia’s Private Security Inc. in 2017.

With considerable expertise in both residential and commercial security, Ms. Garcia has spent the vast majority of her career working with government agencies. She has done work for a variety of government departments, including child protective services, court houses and law enforcement. Through both of her companies, she offers such services as camera surveillance, vehicle patrol, and security officer training. Ms. Garcia is certified as an instructor in firearms, tasers, tear gas and batons and also provides background checks and referrals to other companies. Recently, she had the opportunity to apply for a position on the review board of the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services and is looking forward to being part of the license review process.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Garcia intends to focus on the training aspect of her work, as that has always been her favorite aspect of what she does. She also hopes to increase her involvement in her community. Currently, she provides coaching and training in firearms and self-defense to women in a volunteer capacity. In order to keep abreast of new developments in her field, Ms. Garcia maintains professional affiliation with the National Rifle Association and the San Francisco Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.

Attributing much of her success to her father, who is a continued source of motivation and support, Ms. Garcia is incredibly proud to have established both a firearms facility and a security company and also be certified as an instructor for both firearms and tasers. For her excellence, she was notably presented with the Recognition Award from the Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized in 2020. Above everything, Ms. Garcia considers the most gratifying aspect of her career to be excelling and achieving respect as a woman in a very male-dominated industry.
