Throughout her career, Carol Grunberg, MBA, has played a key role in the development and implementation of mobile payments, even being at the forefront of many transformative technologies. Attributing her success to making hard decisions and taking risks, she has been the chief business officer for Yuno, a payments orchestration and financial technology company in Bronxville, New York, since 2024.
Ms. Grunberg has always been steadfast in her willingness to grow and learn, investing passion into her work and seeking opportunities to have a lasting impact on her industry. Alongside her role at Yuno, she has been a limited partner with Garuda Ventures and a board member for Team Unity Inc. since 2023. In the same year, she also founded C Group Capital. As a foundation, Ms. Grunberg sought higher education to best prepare her for an accomplished career in financial technology. She graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in socio-cultural communication, after which she matriculated at Capella University. After earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA), she continued her academic pursuits at Singularity University, where she completed an executive MBA in exponential technologies.
Prior to her current executive leadership positions, Ms. Grunberg gained more than 20 years of professional experience in her field, starting as a product manager for cash access, balance transfers, and cardmember retention with Discover Financial Services in 1998. In 2005, she transitioned to senior manager of business development with IBM, subsequently becoming the director of marketing and business development for Indecomm Global Services. From 2008 to 2011, Ms. Grunberg excelled as the vice president of marketing and business development for Tyfone Inc., after which she co-founded MoMoPDX in 2009.
Continuing her professional pursuits, Ms. Grunberg became a founding member of Google Offers with Google in 2011, later serving the tech giant as the founder and head of product incubation in commerce from 2012 to 2013. From 2012 to 2016, she was Google’s head of strategic partnerships and payments. Ms. Grunberg then left Google to serve as the director of global business development for the Ant Group, later becoming the global head of growth and strategic development. She took her talents to RiseUp at Money20/20, where she became the founding adviser. Parallel to these positions, she served on the board of directors for PayTech Women from 2013 to 2020, additionally holding the role of board president in 2019. From 2020 to 2021, she broadened her professional horizons as a venture partner with KittyHawk Ventures, and from 2021 to 2023, she was the managing director and global head of strategic partnerships and innovation with Citi.
As an esteemed financial technology professional, Ms. Grunberg is proud of contributing to numerous payment services, including Google Wallet, Instant Buy, Android Pay, and Google Hands Free. She received a Top 100 Global Sales Leader award from The Modern Sale in 2019 and was named a Global Ambassador by the Ant Group in 2019. In continued recognition of her achievements, Ms. Grunberg was honored with The Future is Female award from Fleishman Hillard in 2019 and named to the Ant Class by the Ant Group in 2018. A perpetual winner, previously in 2012, she was awarded a Great Manager Recognition from Google, and in 2016, the company presented her with a Global Partnership Award.
To stay involved and informed about developments in her profession, Ms. Grunberg became a member of Partnership MKE in 2020. She has served on the advisory board for RiseUp with Money20/20 since 2018 and maintained membership to the Financial Women of San Francisco from 2014 to 2019. In 2023, Ms. Grunberg became a strategic adviser with Deem. Further, she was a member of the steering committee for Milwaukee Women Inc. from 2020 to 2021 and a board member of the American Red Cross of Wisconsin from 2019 to 2021. In her free time, Ms. Grunberg enjoys quality time with her family and traveling.
