Since 2020, Brandee M. Buckley has been the owner of Afro Herbalist LLC, where she serves as an esthetician and herbalist specializing in body sculpting and holistic living. Skilled in customer service and fitness, she offers a wide range of therapeutic services and products, including body waxing, essential oils and scrubs. She is also a distributor of Herbalife healthy shakes and teas and has found new and interesting ways of using their protein powders to make healthy cake toppings. In addition to her work with Afro Herbalist, Ms. Buckley volunteers her time as a fitness instructor.
Prior to establishing her own business, Ms. Buckley began her career as an esthetician at the European Wax Center in 2017. During this time, she attended Raphael’s School of Beauty Culture, Inc., becoming licensed as a manicurist, esthetician and beauty instructor in 2019. She has also completed coursework at Michigan State University as she believes strongly in the importance of continuing education and hopes that it will allow her to incorporate new and advanced treatments and therapies into her work.
Attributing much of her success to her positive and uplifting personality, along with her consistent work ethic, Ms. Buckley considers starting her own independent business to be her greatest professional achievement. Furthermore, she is incredibly proud of the fact that Afro Herbalist now boasts a 95% customer return rate. While she greatly enjoys the opportunities her physical location gives her to interact with such a variety of different people, as Ms. Buckley looks toward the future, she hopes to launch an online store to bring her products to an even wider customer base.
Living her life by the motto, “Put your body in motion,” Ms. Buckley would advise young and aspiring professionals to keep a list of their core values, starting with at least three. For her excellence, she was featured in the business section of Warren Weekly just a few months after she opened Afro Herbalist. Most recently, Ms. Buckley was named among Who’s Who of Professional Women.
