
Possessing more than two decades of professional experience, today Barbara K. French Bush of Franklin, Tennessee, is an entrepreneurial force specializing in cabinetry. Since 2024, she has thrived as co-owner of French’s Cabinet Gallery LLC and continues to expand the business she established in 2000. Under her leadership, the company has become a recognized name in the region, known for its custom cabinetry and innovative design solutions. For 24 years, Ms. French Bush operated the gallery as the sole owner, refining her expertise in home building and remodeling while leveraging her design talents.
Before entering the cabinet industry, Ms. French Bush owned Curves franchises, where she found fulfillment in providing a supportive fitness environment for women. Despite the economic downturn in 2008 impacting the business, she recognized its potential and profitability. Her entrepreneurial spirit also led her to obtain a real estate license, allowing her to work in the field for more than a decade while managing her cabinetry business. Earlier in her career, Ms. French Bush was part of the document technology division at the U.S. Department of Defense, where she ranked among the top three in national sales.
Laying a strong educational foundation, Ms. French Bush earned an associate degree in interior design and vocal music from Oklahoma State University in 1978 and later obtained her real estate license to diversify her professional expertise. She is an active member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association and contributes to her community by donating cabinets to local initiatives since 2010 and supporting Convoy of Hope.
Moreover, Ms. French Bush’s creative talents extend to music, where she has made a mark as a singer and songwriter. One of her songs topped the charts for six weeks and was featured on a Grammy Award-winning album, a standout moment in her career.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. French Bush has earned significant recognitions, including being named one of the Top 20 Women in Nashville and the Tennessee area by She Leads America in 2023, receiving the Trademark Women of Distinction Honors Edition Award in 2021, and earning the Torch Award for Business Ethics from the Better Business Bureau in 2019. Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. French Bush enjoys reading, decorating, gardening, cooking, and ballroom dancing with her husband. Looking to the future, she plans to focus on business development within the kitchen and bath industry while exploring new inventions. She also intends to return to songwriting and pursue international travel.
