Angela Bedlington

Angela Bedlington has established a successful career in contracting, procurement, finance planning, and analysis. She currently excels as a procurement delivery advisor at BP PLC, a role she has held since 2023. In this capacity, she negotiates contracts with vendors to secure optimal prices and terms for materials, equipment, and services. She also collaborates with business stakeholders to forecast demand and develop contractor strategies. Her expertise extends to supplier performance management, export compliance, and international trade regulation.

From 2021 to 2023, Ms. Bedlington served as a senior performance analyst at BP, where she played a key role in implementing a major cost initiative program with refinery leaders, resulting in $13 million in savings in a single year. Prior to her work at BP, she held several roles at Shell, including contract specialist from 2020 to 2021 and as a finance analyst lead from 2017 to 2020. Her earlier responsibilities at Shell included positions such as hydrocarbon accounting lead and inventory management site lead.

Ms. Bedlington’s professional journey began with five years of service in the U.S. Navy, from 2002 to 2007, where she served as a postal/supply leader stationed in Sigonella, Sicily and achieved the rank of E5. During this time, she supported wartime efforts in the Mediterranean during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. This high-intensity period involved managing over 3.6 million pounds of incoming and outgoing mail and supplies through the fleet mail center, distributing critical resources to units across the 5th and 6th Navy Fleets in 200 ports across 35 countries.

Ms. Bedlington’s commitment and performance earned her two Navy Achievement Medals and a Navy Good Conduct Medal. After transitioning to the private sector, she held roles including maintenance coordinator at the Port of Bellingham and senior maintenance coordinator at Alcoa Aluminum Corporation.

Laying a strong educational foundation, Ms. Bedlington earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix in 2008. Continuing her education, she went on to earn a master’s degree in management in 2009, and a Master of Business Administration in accounting from Colorado Technical University in 2017.

Moreover, Ms. Bedlington is actively involved in professional and civic communities. At BP PLC, she participates in the Women’s Network and Veterans BRG and previously served as treasurer for the Military Network at the Puget Sound Refinery. She is also affiliated with the Institute for Supply Management and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Her community involvement includes serving as treasurer for Rangers soccer club and vice president of the Cherry Point Rec Club at BP.

Ms. Bedlington attributes her success to her strong personal drive and the challenging roles that have shaped her growth, both personally and professionally. Raised in a family with limited financial means, she was determined to pursue higher education, ultimately earning multiple degrees and securing fulfilling roles that have propelled her career. She continues to strive for excellence, focusing on becoming a more empathetic leader and individual.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Bedlington enjoys spending time with her three children and pursuing activities such as camping, outdoor recreation, gardening, soccer, and reading. Looking ahead, she is focused on continued growth, with plans to complete all three exams for the Certified Professional in Supply Management certification while supporting her daughter’s educational aspirations.
