
Amanda V. Louzon, BBA, LDO, ABOC, NCLEC, has forged a remarkable path in the optical industry. She currently excels as the chief executive officer of Optical Development Consulting LLC, a company she founded in 2018. Her firm is dedicated to enhancing optical practices by integrating medical principles into optical services, in alignment with her personal motto: “Bringing medical back to optical.” Her leadership and vision have been instrumental in establishing her firm as a key player in the industry.
In 2019, prior to launching her company full time, Ms. Louzon served as the optical manager at Eye Centers of Florida. In this role, she managed day-to-day operations and ensured high-quality service delivery. She leveraged her extensive experience to navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and successfully maintained a strong clientele during this period—demonstrating both resilience and deep industry expertise.
From 2015 to 2018, Ms. Louzon was the director of optical staff development and dispensary operations at Medical Eyeglass Center. Her responsibilities included overseeing staff training and streamlining dispensary functions, which contributed significantly to operational efficiency and elevated patient experiences. Earlier, from 2007 to 2015, she worked as a regional manager and insurance coordinator at Partners in Vision Inc., where she led regional operations and coordinated insurance processes, further honing her skills in leadership, compliance, and customer service.
Ms. Louzon began her optical career as an apprentice optician at Branchburg Eye Physicians in Branchburg, New Jersey, from 2004 to 2007. Before entering the optical field, she worked as a general manager at Borders Group from 1999 to 2004, where she built a foundation in business management and customer engagement.
Ms. Louzon laid a strong educational foundation with an associate degree in ophthalmic science from Raritan Valley Community College, earned in 2005, followed by a Bachelor of Business Administration in business administration and management from Strayer University in 2020. She holds several key certifications, including American Board of Opticianry Certified optician through the National Academy of Opticianry and a license as an ophthalmic dispenser in New Jersey. She also holds the National Contact Lens Examiners Advanced Certification, demonstrating advanced proficiency in contact lens dispensing.
Moreover, Ms. Louzon is an active member of the Optical Women’s Association and the Golden Key International Honour Society. Her personal life is enriched by her cultural heritage as the daughter of a first-generation American Greek mother. This background has instilled in her a strong sense of identity and perseverance that has shaped her career journey and approach to leadership.
