
Alexis Johnson, MSN, MBA, RN, is a dedicated leader in hematology and oncology nursing, known for her commitment to excellence in patient care. She currently dedicates her expertise to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she has provided exceptional care and leadership in her field for the past six years. She has also served as a financial strategist with World Financial Group, Transamerica Corporation.
Ms. Johnson laid a strong academic foundation, earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Jacksonville University in 2018. She went on to complete both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in nursing from Jacksonville State University in 2024. Moreover, she holds professional certification as a registered nurse.
Ms. Johnson’s commitment to excellence in nursing is further reflected in her active membership in professional organizations, including the Birmingham Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority Inc. She also participates in civic-minded organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Breast Cancer Walk, and Magic City Classic—efforts that demonstrate her passion for community service and advocacy for health-related causes.
Reflecting on her path, Ms. Johnson’s inspiration for a nursing career stems from two maternal aunts who were nurses, as well as her personal experience supporting her grandmother through illness. Watching how the nurses cared for her grandmother left a lasting impression and motivated her to follow the same path. One of her proudest milestones has been successfully completing a demanding dual master’s program while working full-time—a testament to her determination and resilience.
Ms. Johnson attributes her success to her compassion for others and a steadfast drive to reach her goals. She finds deep fulfillment in making a difference in health care and ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate care possible. When advising aspiring professionals, she emphasizes that it does not matter how many times you fail, you need to get back up and keep pushing.
In her personal life, Ms. Johnson enjoys reading, writing, singing, and dancing. Looking to the future, she aspires to establish her own business and contribute philanthropically to Jacksonville University or Jacksonville State University through scholarships or donations. She also envisions traveling the world and starting a family, combining her personal aspirations with continued professional growth.
