
Recognized for her expertise in commercial real estate transactional law, Aimee D. LaTourette is a partner at Schulten Ward Turner & Weiss LLP in Atlanta, handling general and real estate litigation. Ms. LaTourette supports commercial real estate transactions, provides business law guidance, assists with business formation and acquisitions, advises on business matters, and helps clients wind down their businesses. Advancing from paralegal to partner, her career path reflects her professional growth and dedication to enhancing client experiences.
Well regarded for her contributions to her profession, Ms. LaTourette has received numerous accolades. Among her accomplishments, she was honored with the CALI Award nine times by The Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction. Initially inspired by her mother-in-law’s involvement in real estate, Ms. LaTourette worked as a paralegal at age 19. This early experience ignited her passion for law and motivated her to pursue higher education while working full-time. Overcoming the challenges of this journey, Ms. LaTourette credits her success to hard work, diligence, and the quality of her mentors. She believes these attributes prepared her to seize opportunities.
Previously, Ms. LaTourette was a senior real estate associate at Schulten Ward Turner & Weiss LLP, where she established her reputation and made significant contributions to the firm’s success. In 2015, she was also a member of Bold Examinations LLC, further honing her skills in property law. Ms. LaTourette’s previous experience includes tenures as a law clerk and associate attorney in real estate litigation at Dickenson Gilroy LLC, a law clerk in the senior citizen law division of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, a government conveyance supervisor and title reviewer at Aldridge Pite LLP, and a title and homeowners association specialist at PEMCO Limited. Her professional journey began in the real estate field as a real estate-owned (REO) pre-closer with McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce in 2004.
Ms. LaTourette’s performance in the field has been supported by her academic achievements. She obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and finance from Kaplan Inc. in 2010. Subsequently, Ms. LaTourette earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence, graduating summa cum laude and as valedictorian of her class from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 2014. She was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2014 and has also appeared before the Supreme Court of Georgia.
Throughout her career, Ms. LaTourette has been active with professional organizations. She is an executive committee member of the Real Property Law Section and chair of the Title Standards Subcommittee of the State Bar of Georgia. Additionally, she has extended her commitment beyond her vocational responsibilities and into civic engagement. Most notably, she volunteered as an income tax preparer for the United Way of Greater Atlanta.
Moving forward, Ms. LaTourette intends to continue serving on the executive committee of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. While advancing positive changes for clients and the real estate industry across Georgia, she aims to facilitate generational transition within the field of real estate law. In her leisure time, Ms. LaTourette enjoys reading books.
