LINDSEY R. SERAFINI

Lindsey R. Serafini, BBA, is an entrepreneur, business leader and innovator, changing the manufacturing industry since 2012 as the owner of Castle Plastics. A family-owned business celebrating over 100 years of continuous operation, Castle Plastics has become recognized as a cornerstone of the farrier supply industry and one of the top manufacturers of specialty horseshoe pads. Ms. Serafini remembers her grandfather Gabrielle, the founder of Castle Plastics, as her inspiration and teacher, citing the ethics and integrity she learned at his side while helping with the business as a small child. Passionate about both the industry and the business from a young age, Ms. Serafini fondly recalls attending her first trade show and explains that it was “only a matter of time” before she moved into a management role.

At Castle Plastics, Ms. Serafini is responsible for managing finances and strategic planning in addition to overseeing the company’s staff of 12 employees. Since becoming the owner of the company in 2012, she has increased sales by more than 250%, attributing the growth to the fresh perspectives on marketing and manufacturing that she brings to the role. Committed to continued innovation, Ms. Serafini hopes to introduce several new product lines within the next five years and hopes to expand the existing product line, creating a broader range of solutions for other equine care needs. She describes seeing customers’ successes as her favorite part of the job, adding that customer requests and feedback have always been a key part of the company design process. Ms. Serafini is proud to keep Castle Plastics family-operated with all manufacturing done in-house and based in the United States.

When she stepped up as the owner of Castle Plastics, Ms. Serafini was also a student at Worcester State University. Driven and detail-oriented, she not only balanced the demands of her academic and professional lives, but earned an award for having the highest GPA in her class. She graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian in 2013 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, and was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society, where she remains a proud alumni member. Ms. Serafini hopes to cultivate a reputation as a friendly and approachable leader, and strives to use a softer approach to marketing and customer management at Castle Plastics. Under her guidance, Castle Plastics has cultivated partnerships with veterinarians, trade shows, and prominent voices in the farrier and horse care industries, including acting as an educational partner at the 2020 International Hoof-Care Summit.

An active voice in shaping the future of her industry, Ms. Serafini is a member of the Farrier Industry Association and serves as Kennel Club treasurer. She has been honored as a Valued Member of the American Farriers Journal in addition to being the recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Serafini looks forward to continuing growth and success as an emerging leader in both the manufacturing and equine industries in the coming years.
