Initially wanting to go to law school, Kris Holden graduated high school, but was tired of going to school and just wanted to work. Finding her sense of accomplishment and joy, she decided to work for a year before going to school. She started working for a title insurance company and by the age of 19, she opened her own escrow company. Ms. Holden had a strong drive to do something interesting and productive, and wanted to help people. She does a lot of design work, as well to help her clients who are selling get the best price for their property. She updates the homes and gets them staged to sell for top dollar.

Ms. Holden began her professional career as the company owner and a limited practice officer at the escrow and mortgage company, Shelter Mortgage, in 1978, remaining in this role for seven years before becoming a real estate broker at Re/MAX from 1985 to 1986. She then served as a real estate agent at John L. Scott Real Estate from 1986 to 1989 and the Heller Company Realtors from 1989 to 1992. Today, she is a managing broker and marketing executive of her own company, Kris Holden/Windermere Real Estate, since 1992. For the 13th year, Ms. Holden was voted in from the public as being in the top 5% of all brokers in the area for best client care, dubbed the Five-Star Professional Award.

A fundraising volunteer with the Pediatric Interim Care Center in Kent, WA, as well as a former board member, Ms. Holden maintains involvement with numerous organizations within her field including the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, from which she received the Community Service Award, the National Association of Realtors and Standards of Practice. Ms. Holden attributes her success to her hard work; where there is a will, there is a way and she has a lot of will. She is also very resourceful, social and loves people.

Moving forward, Ms. Holden loves her job and as long as she loves it, she will continue doing it. She is currently taking some more time to spend with her family, but she wants to continue to do what she loves to do. Ms. Holden was so fortunate to be raised by her mother, who told her, “You go to work earlier than your expected to, stay later than your expected to, do more than your asked to, value your credit with your life and pay your bills before you eat.”
