Audra Bowman has achieved a wealth of success as the founder and creative designer of 47 Blooms Jewelry since 2015 and as the editor and owner of The Scout Guide Jackson since 2023. In her role with The Scout Guide Jackson, she has been involved at the release of Volume 10, initially contributing as distributor and promoter. She subsequently oversaw Volumes 11 and 12, and is now preparing for Volume 13. Each year, Ms. Bowman prints 20,000 copies, dedicating a full year to promoting and distributing the guide throughout her territory, which covers Jackson and central Mississippi across 28 counties.
Ms. Bowman’s present responsibilities with The Scout Guide Jackson include boosting sales, launching the annual release, distributing guides, engaging in face-to-face interactions with clients and ensuring she remains accessible. She is also deeply involved in event planning, organizing community gatherings such as “member mingles” to foster engagement among members, including a large launch event for Volume 12 in January 2026. With each new volume, she actively reaches out to potential members and encourages current members to renew their participation. Ms. Bowman’s commitment extends beyond print, she promotes clients through local television segments and social media channels, providing a comprehensive public relations package.
Managing The Scout Guide requires significant effort for Ms. Bowman, particularly during peak seasons when photo shoots and client coordination intensify. In 2025, she managed 103 clients, underscoring the demanding nature of her work. Despite the challenges, Ms. Bowman remains dedicated to delivering exceptional service because her clients place their trust in her.
Simultaneously, Ms. Bowman continues to grow 47 Blooms Jewelry, a business inspired by personal experience and family legacy. She established the jewelry line after learning the craft from her stepmother during a period of personal challenge; what began as a creative outlet evolved into a thriving enterprise that she manages alongside The Scout Guide. Balancing both businesses is difficult but rewarding, as Ms. Bowman finds joy in both endeavors and is committed to their continued success.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Bowman worked as a speech-language pathologist after earning her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from The University of Mississippi in 1997. She practiced in this field for several years before pausing her career to focus on motherhood. When her parents became seriously ill, she drew upon her training to facilitate communication within her family, particularly when supporting loved ones facing brain tumors and Alzheimer’s disease. This experience stands as a crowning achievement for Ms. Bowman both professionally and personally, as it allowed her to use her skills to support her family during a challenging time.
Throughout her career, Ms. Bowman has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to continuous learning and adaptability. She embraces daily opportunities for growth, whether mastering new invoicing systems or evolving business strategies based on client feedback. Her academic background at the The University of Mississippi includes a bachelor’s degree in communicative disorders in 1995 followed by a master’s degree in speech-language pathology in 1997. Ms. Bowman’s education provided the foundation for her early career as a speech-language pathologist and informed her ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues across industries.
Ms. Bowman’s upbringing played a significant role in shaping her adaptability and interpersonal skills. Moving frequently due to her father’s work meant attending six different schools before the age of fourteen, an experience that taught her how to build relationships quickly and thrive among diverse groups of people. Ms. Bowman’s formative years instilled resilience and confidence that have become hallmarks of her professional life.
Ms. Bowman is active with several industry-related organizations, including the FBI Citizenship Academy since 2021. Likewise, she has held multiple leadership roles within the Junior League of Jackson between 2008 and 2011, such as sustainer, membership director, secretary of the board and membership vice president. Prior to these appointments, she co-chaired Mistletoe Marketplace in 2006. Beyond business commitments, Ms. Bowman supports numerous civic initiatives such as Make A Wish Mississippi, Mississippi Children’s Homes, First Tee of Mississippi Golf Program for Underprivileged Children, Hope Village Children and Mustard Seed of Mississippi, an organization supporting children with Down syndrome by fostering inclusive family environments.
Ms. Bowman’s creative pursuits extend into writing, as she is currently working on a non-fiction book inspired by real-life events that are both comical and remarkable. While not strictly autobiographical, it draws from experiences that offer readers an entertaining perspective on life’s unpredictability. Outside of her primary work, writing remains one of her passions as she continues developing stories for her forthcoming book.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Bowman is focused on making The Scout Guide as successful as possible while fostering meaningful relationships within its community of members so they can support one another personally and professionally. She also hopes to see 47 Blooms recognized more widely on the national stage as a distinctive jewelry brand.
