Laird D. Grant has found much success as a principal consultant for Forensic Management Company and Bryces Bounty, Inc. in San Diego, California, since 2005. Over the past two decades, she has demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and marketing, garnering recognition for her ability to navigate complex program management challenges. Through Forensic Management Company, Ms. Grant has cultivated a versatile career spanning more than 30 years, consulting for the U.S. Department of Defense and focusing on configuration management within the commercial sector. Her consulting portfolio includes engineering projects involving airplanes, tanks and U.S. Navy ships, which she has supported for 34 years.
Additionally, Ms. Grant consults for an independent production company and is the founder of a cosmetics line dedicated to clean products, which she actively promotes among her family. From 2012 to 2016, she was active as the co-owner of a cable and wire harness assembly company in Arkansas. The company produced cables for clients in the medical field, military sector, the Transportation Security Administration, x-ray machine manufacturers and military Humvee suppliers. This entrepreneurial venture expanded her experience in manufacturing and supply chain management.
Ms. Grant began her post-collegiate career working with the U.S. Department of Defense for a decade. During this period, she earned multiple awards of excellence for outstanding performance across various positions. Her leadership extended to local Northern Virginia chapters of professional organizations, where she frequently served as president. Internationally, Ms. Grant contributed to the Society of Logistics Engineers—now known as SOLE: The International Society of Logistics—and participated in initiatives with the Logistics Education Foundation.
Ms. Grant’s commitment to civic engagement is evident through her service on the Orange County Grand Jury for 18 months during a historic municipal bankruptcy. As vice president and pro tempore member of the grand jury, she led the orientation team and became the youngest individual in Orange County history to serve in this capacity. This experience provided her with valuable insights into county government operations during a critical period.
Following her tenure on the grand jury, Ms. Grant became involved with Drug Use Is Life Abuse in Orange County, California. She volunteered with the organization, assisted with grant writing and was ultimately hired as program manager for Project No Gangs. In this capacity, she focused on educating both adults and children about gang awareness and supporting at-risk youth—a mission that later informed her approach to parenting and advocacy.
Ms. Grant’s academic foundation was established at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management in 1982. She credits her father as her greatest mentor and attributes her success to continuous learning, observant leadership and a steadfast work ethic rooted in family values.
Beyond her primary career roles, Ms. Grant contributes to the advisory council for the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education and remains active with the Logistics Education Foundation. She has also contributed to innovative projects such as serving on the board of a company developing a nutraceutical product that incorporates a musical massage bed designed to facilitate cellular healing—an initiative aimed at creating neurography art for the neurodivergent community.
Having supported her spouse through his recovery from cancer and raising two children who are high-functioning on the autism spectrum with severe attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Ms. Grant actively seeks tools and support to manage these challenges while remaining dedicated to making a positive difference through her professional services. Looking toward the future, her primary goal is to make a difference by helping her clients and providing valuable services that positively impact their lives.
