Teri MIller

Teri Miller has established a stellar career in the insurance industry, currently excelling as a second-level commercial claim adjuster at American Family Mutual Insurance Company since 2022. In this capacity, she manages claims from initiation through resolution, conducts initial intake of insurance claims within the care center, contacts involved parties to obtain detailed statements, evaluates liability and reviews applicable policy coverages, oversees the claim lifecycle until resolution or transfer to a medical adjuster and closes claims or transfers cases involving more significant injuries. Her remarkable longevity with American Family Mutual Insurance Company stands as her most notable professional achievement, cementing her dedication and commitment to her field.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Miller served as a second-level claim adjuster at American Family Mutual Insurance Company from 2021 to 2022. During this time, she was responsible for handling increasingly complex claims and further developing her expertise in commercial auto adjusting, commercial lines adjusting and personal line adjusting. From 2019 to 2021, Ms. Miller gained valuable experience as a claim adjuster at the same company, where she built foundational skills in claims management and customer service.

Before joining American Family Mutual Insurance Company, Ms. Miller worked as a claims specialist at National Indemnity Company from 2018 to 2019. In this position, she gained valuable experience in evaluating insurance claims and collaborating with clients and colleagues to resolve cases efficiently.

Ms. Miller’s professional journey also includes diverse roles outside the insurance sector. In 2018, she was a city carrier associate with the United States Postal Service, where she managed mail delivery routes and provided reliable service to customers. From 2014 to 2016, Ms. Miller contributed as a research assistant at Research Partnership, supporting data collection and analysis efforts. 

During the same period, Ms. Miller was active as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut and as a teller at Credit Union of America from 2015 to 2016, where she developed strong interpersonal and financial transaction skills. In 2014, she was recruited as an associate financial representative at The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, gaining early exposure to the financial services industry. Ms. Miller’s career began with positions as a produce clerk and cashier at Kroger from 2012 to 2014.

In addition to her civilian career, Ms. Miller proudly served in the United States Army in 2017 as a patriot fire control operator and maintainer. Although her military service was cut short due to injury after one year, this experience provided her with discipline and resilience that have benefited her throughout her professional life.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Miller is civically engaged as a volunteer with Taproot Theatre and has been presented with volunteer awards recognizing her contributions to community organizations. She is also involved in various extracurriculous organizations, including as Pacific Northwest regional events coordinator for Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity since 2018. She previously held leadership roles within the aforementioned fraternity as president from 2015 to 2016 and has contributed as a volunteer.

To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Miller graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Wichita State University in Wichita in 2016. This degree provided her with analytical skills essential for success in insurance claims management. Ms. Miller’s entry into the insurance profession was influenced by networking opportunities following graduation, as the connections she made at social events led directly to job opportunities that shaped her career trajectory.

Ms. Miller holds several professional certifications that underscore her commitment to excellence in her field. She earned an insurance adjuster certification from the Texas Department of Insurance in 2018. Furthermore, Ms. Miller obtained a casualty claim adjuster license from American Family Mutual Insurance Company that same year.

In her personal life, Ms. Miller enjoys attending the Art Walk in Pioneer Square, participating in events in Belltown, attending concerts and live performances, enjoying symphony performances and musical productions and socializing with friends over dinner and drinks. She is also passionate about hiking, kayaking, hosting parties, reading and studying psychology.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Miller aims to pursue growth and new opportunities within the insurance industry. As a lifelong learner who values advancement and decision-making responsibilities, she seeks roles that will allow her to contribute meaningfully through analysis and leadership within the corporate sector.
