CHAROLETTE J. WAGNER

When Charolette J. Wagner was in school, she had a number of teachers who inspired her to pursue the field. She loved learning, and was determined to help others find that passion. Ms. Wagner shot to the top very quickly; some of her earliest positions include superintendent of the Etowah School District, and superintendent and coordinator of federal programs and gifted and talented programs at Manila Public Schools. She also served as the assistant to the dean in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas,  Fayetteville.

Eventually, however, Ms. Wagner decided that she could spread her reach more as a legislator. She was a member of District 77 in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012, where she really gave her all to her community. Some of the other ways Ms. Wagner stayed connected were through the Arkansas Northeastern College Foundation Board, the Mississippi County Retired Teachers Association, Manila Business & Professional Women, and Economics Arkansas. Her efforts led her to be named an Outstanding Young Woman in America and to be featured in Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Who’s Who in American Politics. She credits much of her success to her mother’s belief that women could be leaders.

To prepare for her endeavors, Ms. Wagner earned a Bachelor of Science in English from Arkansas State University and a Master of Arts from the University of Kentucky. She also obtained certification in gifted and talented education and Arkansas school administration, and as a real estate broker.

When Ms. Wagner has free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and being with her family. She and her husband, Wayne, have two children, Tommy and Wes, and four grandchildren, Ty, Ella, Scarlett, and Warren.
