Ms. Smith’s professional journey is anchored by her academic foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting, graduating cum laude from Jacksonville State University. Earlier in her career, Ms. Smith developed a strong background in managerial and cost accounting at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC. She worked as a managerial reporting lead, overseeing the preparation of management reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve reporting systems. Her experience also included roles in managerial reporting and cost accounting, as well as capital investment analysis, where she was responsible for evaluating expenditures and conducting detailed assessments to optimize resources.
Among her notable accomplishments is spearheading the development of a monthly profit and loss outcomes report at Voya Financial. This initiative had not previously existed within the company, and her leadership in designing and implementing the project gave senior leadership and the chief operating officer critical insights into financial performance.
