Kristine Denise Huerth brings a dynamic blend of industry insight and team leadership to the complex world of treasury management. As director and team lead for California and Pacific Rim commercial banking at the Bank of Montreal (BMO), she leads a team of 10 treasury consultants, overseeing operations across a broad geographic territory. Her role focuses on delivering strategic treasury and payment solutions to business clients while streamlining financial processes and driving efficiencies. Her work reflects not only deep subject matter knowledge but also a talent for mentoring others and creating cohesive, high-performing teams. 

Ms. Huerth’s educational background began with her high school graduation, which marked the foundation of her career in banking. She later enhanced her managerial skills through BMO’s Manager Essentials Academy, completing the program with the tools and training to support her evolving responsibilities in team leadership. Her commitment to learning and professional development continues to inform her growth and impact within the industry. 

Ms. Huerth’s path into treasury management traces back to a formative experience during her youth when she was the treasurer of a student-run bank. Following her parents’ divorce, she found both comfort and purpose in financial stewardship. At 18, she began working as a teller at Bank of America, where she quickly rose through the ranks to become a personal banker and eventually transitioned into business banking. Her tenure at Bank of America offered foundational experience that shaped her understanding of client service and financial solutions. 

Ms. Huerth spent more than a decade at Citizens Business Bank, working as vice president and treasury management sales officer. There, she established a reputation for dedication and results, earning recognition as the most valuable sales officer. Her ability to foster long-term client relationships, identify customized treasury solutions and manage complex portfolios earned her the respect of both colleagues and clients. 

After joining BMO, she took on a leadership position in treasury and payment solutions with a regional focus on California and the Pacific Rim. Her promotion to director and team lead aligned with BMO’s expansion in those markets and leveraged her ability to manage cross-functional teams with precision and vision. Her impact at the company has been marked by innovation, client satisfaction and measurable performance results. 

Along with her career growth, Ms. Huerth has maintained a strong presence in professional and civic communities. She is an active member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the ERG Group and participates in the BMO Alliance for Women. Her previous volunteer work with Women Helping Women and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America highlights her ongoing commitment to mentorship and empowerment. Her contributions have been honored with awards such as the F24 – Q4 Cash Cow Award and the F24 – Q1 Apex Award at BMO. These accolades reflect her consistent performance and ability to deliver value in a competitive environment. 

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Huerth enjoys traveling and preserving memories through scrapbooking. She also remains focused on future ambitions, including earning her certified treasury professional designation and pursuing advancement to managing director of treasury and payment solutions at BMO. Her story is one of resilience, leadership and a lasting commitment to the field of treasury management.
