
Faith M. Logsdon of Illinois is an insurance expert specializing in medical professional liability for physicians. With decades of dedicated service in her field, today, she is the senior vice president of U.S. medical professional liability at Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd., a role she has held since 2016. Aspen Insurance is a leading specialty insurer and reinsurer that offers customized insurance solutions across various sectors, including property, casualty, marine, aviation, and financial and professional lines. Upon joining Aspen, Ms. Logsdon played a key role in developing products, building relationships with brokers, and establishing a comprehensive book of business that incorporated a component of information technology, or IT. Her responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement and coordinating efforts among her team, which comprises experts in actuarial science, product development, and medical underwriting. Ms. Logsdon is also actively involved in revamping forms, collaborating with corporate actuaries, and continuing to help the underwriting process evolve.
From 2010 to 2016, Ms. Logsdon served as senior vice president of medical underwriting at Hallmark Pro, part of the Hallmark Specialty Insurance Company. During this time, she managed medical programs and launched an excess and surplus program for doctors. Her leadership and expertise were recognized by her team at General Star Management Co., where she served as vice president from 2002 to 2008. Ms. Logsdon recalls one particularly memorable moment during her tenure at General Star, when she was included in a meeting that gave her team the opportunity to meet Warren Buffett.
Ms. Logsdon’s career also includes serving as the vice president of the Interstate Insurance Group from 1996 to 2001, where she played a key role in multiple startups. Additionally, Ms. Logsdon stays abreast of developments in the industry as a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the professional liability insurance industry, offering education, networking, and career development opportunities to its members.
Ms. Logsdon built a strong educational foundation for her career pursuits, earning a Bachelor of Science in education and English from Marion College, now Indiana Wesleyan University. Reflecting on her path, she spent five years teaching before transitioning into insurance and moving to Chicago, Illinois. She began her insurance career at CN Morehand, now part of Markel, and later joined CNA, where she managed medical programs and launched an excess and surplus program for doctors. Over the years, Ms. Logsdon has assembled and led teams that have moved from Interstate Insurance to General Star, Hallmark Insurance, and, ultimately, Aspen Insurance.

Enjoying work-life balance, Ms. Logsdon values time spent with her family and enjoys reading British mystery novels and decorating. She is also committed to civic engagement, donating to animal rescue organizations and supporting women’s reproductive rights. Looking ahead, although retirement has been an option for some time, Ms. Logsdon remains engaged in her work because of its fulfilling nature. She is considering becoming more involved with her church and supporting women who are divorced or navigating life independently. Additionally, she has a strong interest in dedicating time to working at an animal shelter to further give back to her community.
