A distinguished expert in the fields of finance, accountancy, and business management, Mahlet Teshome has garnered more than 15 years of practiced excellence in her industry. Recently joining Feazel, a premier contracting company specializing in residential and commercial exteriors, in 2023, she has thrived as the company’s financial planning and analysis manager. In her position, Ms. Teshome collaborates with teams at all employee and executive levels of the organization, working closely with the accounting, finance, and operations teams to help them meet their objectives. Feazel has been in business for more than three decades, headquartered in New Albany, Ohio. Notably, the company works extensively on such projects as roofing, siding, windows, gutters, chimneys, and skylights, among others.
Prior to commencing her tenure with Feazel, Ms. Teshome worked for the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Grove City, Ohio, that is revered as one of the largest food banks in Ohio. Impressively, the organization has been serving underprivileged communities for more than four decades, delivering more than 170,000 meals per year. While working with the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, Ms. Teshome was the organization’s senior financial analyst between 2021 and 2023. Previously, she served as a financial analyst from 2019 to 2020 and a governance and compliance analyst from 2020 to 2021 at Smiths Medical. She also thrived with Red Roof Inn in several capacities between 2007 and 2018, including as a financial analyst and a financial planning and analysis manager.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Teshome decided to pursue a formal education. After immigrating to the United States from Ethiopia in 1997, she attended Mary Baldwin University and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2001. During her career, she has been recognized for her steadfast commitment and dedication to her employers, having exemplified a natural talent for connecting with employees on an individual level and developing reputable, strong working relationships. She is exemplary in her industry for leading her peers with kindness, respect, equity, and inclusion. In the coming years, Ms. Teshome endeavors to begin a mentorship position, possibly as a career coach. She would also like to witness the continued growth and expansion of her career path.
Among her many career accomplishments, Ms. Teshome is particularly gratified by her tenure with the Red Roof Inn, as the organization was paramount in helping her acquire her green card and visa to remain working in the United States. Furthermore, the inn recognized Ms. Teshome on a plethora of occasions in light of her leadership prowess, professionalism and customer service skills, including naming her the Employee of the Month. Ms. Teshome credits her success to the strength and resilience of her mother, who empowered Ms. Teshome and taught her the value of tenacity and strategic thinking while she was coming of age. In this regard, she has always lived and worked by the motto, “Trust the process,” and has leveraged this mantra to guide her toward success in all her career endeavors.
Ms. Teshome has risen above her peers as an influential figure in the corporate environment, due in part to her collaborative personality and inherent patience. In this vein, she is well-regarded for her coaching techniques and aptitude for helping others understand intricate processes and developments. In particular, she has shown expertise in helping the average individual understand the vocational jargon of the finance world, crediting her background in operations.
