
With more than a decade and a half of experience to her credit, Zuzana Urbanova, MBA, has established herself as an accomplished professional in external strategy. She currently excels as the director of external strategies at the National STEM Honor Society, where she leads multiple departments, manages social media and marketing strategies, and oversees talent acquisition. Her expertise in leadership, social media, marketing, human resources, and talent acquisition has been instrumental in driving organizational growth. She also serves as human resources co-director at the same organization, continuing to make significant contributions to its development.
Ms. Urbanova’s journey in human resources began in 2023 as a human resources specialist at Election Systems & Software LLC. She then joined the National STEM Honor Society later that year as a human resources talent acquisition interviewer, a role she held through 2024 before advancing to her current leadership positions. From 2019 to 2024, she owned and managed Zuzana LLC in Omaha, gaining valuable entrepreneurial and operational experience. Earlier in her career, she served as a sales account manager at Axon Lab from 2015 to 2016 and worked as an intensive care nurse at the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine from 2008 to 2011.
Ms. Urbanova’s educational background has played a pivotal role in her career achievements. She earned a diploma in nursing from the School of Nursing Vsetin in 2008, followed by a diploma in social-labor law and employment from the Prague School of Advanced Legal Studies in 2013. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Nebraska Omaha and earned a Master of Business Administration in human resource management from the University of Northern Colorado. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Her internship in data analytics and human resources at the National STEM Honor Society further refined her professional skills.
Reflecting on her path, Ms. Urbanova’s upbringing in Slovakia and her move to the Czech Republic at age 10 instilled resilience and adaptability. Learning a new language and navigating new cultural experiences helped her establish strong personal goals and a drive for self-improvement. She attributes her success to discipline, a focus on continuous growth, and the unwavering support of her family.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Urbanova remains actively engaged in civic organizations. Since 2024, she has served as a board member and membership chair for the Moylan Premier Figure Skating Club in Omaha. From 2022 to 2024, she mentored college students through Mentor Collective in Omaha. She is also a member of the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, underscoring her commitment to community engagement.
In her personal life, Ms. Urbanova was born in Bratislava and enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her husband and two children. Looking to the future, she plans to continue her work with the National STEM Honor Society, supporting children in their STEM education and expanding access to quality learning opportunities. She is particularly committed to bringing resources to underserved areas, guided by her belief that every child deserves access to meaningful educational experiences.
Upon completing her Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling, Ms. Urbanova aims to advocate for women, especially those facing societal and systemic challenges. Her focus includes addressing workplace discrimination, mental health stigma, and the complex responsibilities many women face—such as single motherhood and balancing careers with family life. She is passionate about supporting vulnerable women and helping them find ways to empower themselves, heal, and thrive.
