Driven to help others, Valerie Alsberry pursued a career in the military. As a contractor for the government, she worked with a budget of between $500,000 and $1 million to ensure people had enough equipment to do their jobs to the best of their abilities. Additionally, Ms. Alsberry guaranteed that they had the right software and liaised with customers, as well as a networking team.
Over the years, Ms. Alsberry has also gained valuable expertise in computer analytics through her work with General Dynamics. In pursuit of her career, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in business and computer networking in 1983. She concluded his academic efforts with a Master of Arts in criminal justice in 1985. Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Alsberry is especially proud of enlisting in the military. As a member of the coast guard, she was able to help people and save lives with search and rescue.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Alsberry intends to continue preaching, teaching, leading, guiding and touching the lives of others. She attributes her success to God, family support and growing up with her mother, which initially pushed her to be a better person. She came out of poverty and wants people to know that their circumstances that they are in now do not define them; they are better than their circumstances. Ms. Alsberry would like to be remembered as someone who could communicate with anyone to overcome challenges and changes. She advises others to look for the positive in negative situations, do the right thing and work hard; if you get knocked down, get up and fight.
