Sheniqua M. Lee, LMHC

Sheniqua M. Lee, LMHC, has distinguished herself through a dynamic and impactful career spanning more than 20 years in mental health, counseling and community service. As owner and chief executive officer of Said with Love, Wedding Officiant Services since 2024, she has served as a wedding officiant while also offering individual and couples premarital counseling.

Ms. Lee’s journey into officiating weddings began in 2022, when she started advertising premarital counseling on The Knot, a popular wedding planning website. She was inspired to combine counseling with officiating after she encountered numerous couples seeking both services. Ms. Lee became ordained through American Marriage Ministries in 2023 and immediately expanded her services to include officiating ceremonies. By obtaining ordination and formalizing her business approach, she created an integrated model that supports couples throughout their journey. Since founding Said With Love, Ms. Lee has expanded her reach through online platforms such as The Knot, Zola and Engaged, as well as local wedding expos and word-of-mouth referrals. She is known for her personal approach, using detailed questionnaires and meetings to ensure each ceremony is unique and meaningful.

In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Ms. Lee has operated as a clinical therapist with Broadhollow Psychotherapy PLLC since 2019, and through her own practice since 2016. In this capacity, she provides therapy for individuals and couples, specializing in anxiety, coping with life changes, depression and premarital counseling.

Earlier in Ms. Lee’s professional journey, she held multiple roles with WellLife Network. She first joined the company in 2015 as a care coordinator. Over the course of five years, Ms. Lee was promoted to senior care coordinator and program coordinator and was trusted to manage mental health and substance abuse care programs. She demonstrated remarkable adaptability during the COVID-19 pandemic by transitioning to virtual therapy services to meet the increased demand for mental health support. This marked a pivotal period in her career, giving her the confidence to leave her job and focus on therapy.

Before joining WellLife Network, Ms. Lee gained experience as a mental health counseling intern at the Federation of Organizations. For several years, she supported youth development initiatives as a case manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. Ms. Lee devoted a decade to contributing as a teen center counselor at the Great South Bay YMCA from 2004 to 2014. Concurrently with that, she was a Medicaid service coordinator for Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities, a guidance counselor for a New York City-based private school and a teacher assistant at the Developmental Disabilities Institute.

Ms. Lee’s performance in the field has been born of her academic journey. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2003. Subsequently, Ms. Lee earned a Master of Science in school counseling from Long Island University in 2007. She has further backed up her credentials with continued professional training. Ms. Lee was certified in clinical mental health counseling through Medaille University in 2016 and as a clinical trauma professional through Evergreen Certifications LLC in 2024. She became a licensed mental health counselor through the New York State Education Department’s Office of the Professions in 2022.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Lee has demonstrated considerable civic engagement. Most notably, she was involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island for over a decade before being hired as a case manager. Ms. Lee offered guidance as a mentor to three little sisters during that time. She has also contributed to community service projects such as helping to open a temporary food pantry at Broadhollow Psychotherapy.

As she moves forward, Ms. Lee is committed to continued self-development. She is currently pursuing certification as a couples counselor and hopes to expand her practice further from there. Ms. Lee also has ambitious plans to grow Said With Love, Wedding Officiant Services by increasing the number of services offered and building a team of officiants who can aid more clients across the region. These goals reflect her leadership qualities, resilience and dedication to providing personalized care — traits that have defined her career in the field of mental health counseling and her more recent efforts in ceremony officiating.
