Inspired by her father – a general contractor – to enter the fields of architecture and design, Sarah Joubert has since established herself as a prominent architect and project manager in Tampa, Florida. Since 2022, she has thrived as a senior associate and co-managing director in the Tampa office of Gensler, where she maintains responsibility for overseeing daily operations, business and talent development and developing secure relationships with the firm’s clients. She first joined Gensler in 2011, serving as a design manager, through which she was responsible for overseeing and executing new construction and projects. Thereafter, she was a co-studio director between 2018 and 2022, where she managed all studio operations.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Joubert served in various capacities for several other firms across the state of Florida in such areas as architecture, engineering, and construction services. She commenced her career in 2002 as an architectural intern at Terry Irwin Architects Inc. in Orlando and then served with DeCaro Wilson Structural Engineers Inc. in Tampa and St. Petersburg as an intern for a year. From there, Ms. Joubert was an architect with Alfonso Architects Inc. from 2005 to 2009, the principal owner of Studio Independent LLC from 2009 to 2011, and an estimator of business development with Albritton Williams Inc. from 2010 to 2011.

To prepare for her career, Ms. Joubert pursued higher education at the University of Florida in Gainesville, receiving a bachelor’s degree in design and a master’s degree in architecture in 2002 and 2005, respectively. In 2007, she earned credentials as a LEED-accredited professional in building design and construction through the U.S. Green Building Council. Further, she was designated as a registered architect in 2008 and as a registered interior designer in 2021 through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Joubert maintains active affiliations with the American Institute of Architects, the Urban Land Institute, and the Real Estate Investment Council.

Ms. Joubert gives credit for her success to her unwavering commitment to her goals, her diligent work ethic, and her commitment to her career. To commemorate her accomplishments, she was named a finalist in the young category for Woman of the Year by the Tampa Bay Business Journal in 2010. In the coming years, Ms. Joubert aims to continue guiding her team at Gensler to promote further expansion and provide opportunities for them to succeed.
