As the owner of Bey’s Nest LLC, a thriving real estate investment company, Robyn Elaine Overbey Daley combines her expertise in property acquisition, renovation, and flipping with years of diverse experience. She holds a Master of Education from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Michigan State University. Her strong academic foundation has been instrumental in shaping her approach to business and education, and it continues to influence her work in real estate today.
Ms. Daley’s career began in the business world, where she worked in legal automation sales and marketing. From 1984 to 1990, she helped law firms modernize their processes by selling software and hardware solutions. She worked first at Legal Data Systems and later at Barrister Information Systems. Her work in this field gave her valuable experience in sales, marketing, and client management. However, after five years, she decided to pursue her passion for education and made a career shift, earning her master’s degree and becoming a teacher.
From 1992 to 1996, Ms. Daley taught at both St. Richard Catholic School and Chicago Public Schools. Teaching proved to be one of her career’s most challenging yet rewarding roles. As a public-school teacher, she managed classrooms of over 30 students, many of whom struggled with reading and language barriers. Despite these challenges, she found fulfillment in helping her students grow academically and personally. Teaching in Chicago’s diverse urban environment left a lasting impact on her, and she regards this experience as one of the most meaningful chapters of her career.
After marrying and starting a family, Ms. Daley shifted her focus from teaching to raising her three sons. However, her entrepreneurial spirit soon led her into the real estate business, where she worked alongside her family. Her transition to real estate marked the beginning of a new and successful chapter in her professional life. Even after her divorce, Ms. Daley continued to grow her real estate business independently, demonstrating resilience and determination. She has since built Bey’s Nest LLC into a thriving venture, focusing on acquiring and renovating properties.
Outside of her career, Ms. Daley is deeply committed to philanthropy, particularly in cancer research and support. Her personal connection to cancer fuels her dedication to this cause. Ms. Daley lost her brother to bile duct cancer at the age of 41, her father to lung cancer at 77, and her mother fought and survived lymphoma after undergoing chemotherapy. Additionally, her son lost his left eye to a cancerous tumor when he was just 12 years old. These experiences have driven her to actively support cancer-related organizations, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit.
In addition to her philanthropic work, Ms. Daley is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Bay Harbor Yacht Club and the Detroit Athletic Club. She also serves on the executive board of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, contributing to cancer awareness and fundraising efforts.
Ms. Daley attributes much of her success to her strong family ties and the support of her parents and grandparents. Growing up in a family connected to the automotive industry—her grandfathers worked for Chrysler and GM—she learned the value of hard work and perseverance at an early age. These lessons, combined with the personal challenges she faced as a teenager when her parents divorced, shaped her into the determined and successful businesswoman she is today. As the eldest child, she took on the responsibility of helping to care for her two younger brothers, a role that instilled in her a deep sense of resilience and leadership.
Looking ahead, Ms. Daley aims to expand her real estate portfolio, acquiring more properties and increasing her company’s revenue. She is also committed to deepening her involvement in cancer fundraising and advocacy, continuing her support for organizations like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Karmanos Cancer Institute. As her business grows, she is dedicated to using her success to give back to the community with her philanthropic efforts in cancer research.
In her personal life, Ms. Daley enjoys staying active through yoga, traveling, and spending time with her rescue dog, Riley. She finds balance and fulfillment in these activities, complementing her busy life. She is also a proud member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, Alpha Tau Chapter, from her college days, and she maintains strong connections with her sorority sisters.
Ms. Daley has demonstrated a remarkable ability to adapt and succeed in different fields throughout her career. Whether in education, business, or philanthropy, she brings passion, dedication, and a strong work ethic to everything she does. Her journey from legal automation to teaching and eventually to real estate investment reflects her willingness to take on new challenges and her determination to succeed. Even as she plans for future growth in her business, she remains deeply committed to the causes that matter most to her, mainly cancer research and support.
Ms. Daley’s story is one of resilience, adaptability, and purpose. She has built a successful real estate business and dedicated her life to making a difference in the lives of others, both through her work and her philanthropic efforts. As she expands her business and deepens her involvement in cancer advocacy, she remains an inspiring example of how passion and perseverance can lead to lasting success and meaningful impact.
