Rebecca May

Rebecca Welch May of Tennessee credits her success to her can-do attitude and initiative. She prides herself on never shying away from a challenge and is always willing to take on new tasks, qualities which have led her to learn all aspects of her business. With her breadth and depth of industry knowledge, Mrs. May has been an invaluable asset to ARCH Medical Solutions Corp., where she excelled as the vice president of quality compliance until her retirement from full-time work. Throughout her career, she was gratified to know that her hard work contributed to the success of the company.

Prior to this role, Mrs. May was the vice president of operations for the AMS Olive Branch with ARCH Medical Solutions Corp. from 2022 to 20213, before which she was the director of quality for the same branch from 2021 to 2022. Today, she thrives as an entrepreneur in an unrelated venture yet is still involved in the quality industry, maintaining membership in the American Society for Quality, the leading organization for quality professionals (formerly the American Society for Quality Control).

Mrs. May worked in environmental health and safety, dealing with regulations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Faulkner University, a private Christian university, in 1999, she secured experience as the director of environmental health and safety for The Biltrite Corporation. Born in Ripley, Mississippi, she later worked for Mississippi Polymers Inc. from 2000 to 2005. Following five years of professional experience, Mrs. May was a safety and training manager with Quebecor from 2005 to 2006 and served as a senior environmental health and safety specialist from 2006 to 2010. Further, she was an orthobiologics specialist and compliance audit specialist for two years and subsequently launched her career with Medtronic, a major medical device company, as a principal quality systems specialist in 2012.

As Mrs. May progressed in her career, she took on increasing levels of responsibility and leadership roles. With decades of expertise and dedication to upholding quality and safety standards, she has developed a deep and broad understanding of her field that contributed to her consistency and professional excellence. At Medtronic, Mrs. May audited donated human tissue and worked in the quality system. She became a certified tissue bank specialist through the American Association of Tissue Banks. Ultimately, she left to join her husband’s business, Medical Machining Specialist, a medical device contract manufacturing facility launched in 2009. After the business was well established and successful, it was purchased by ARCH Medical Solutions Corp., and Mrs. May stayed with the company through the acquisition. In her role as the vice president of quality compliance, she oversaw the entire corporate structure of the business, which was comprised of more than 20 medical device contract manufacturing facilities.

Looking ahead, Mrs. May plans to pursue a potentially less demanding career. She has her sights set on working in the real estate industry and currently is the co-owner of Pickwick Elite Boat and RV Storage in Savannah, Tennessee, which provides enclosed rental units for storage. In her free time, she stays physically active and enjoys the outdoors—boating, running, and camping. Working alongside her husband to establish new ventures and continue excelling in their joint storage company, Mrs. May is excited to shift her attention and achieve a more relaxed work-life balance in the coming years.

Outside of her professional aspirations, Mrs. May is the proud mother of four children and a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren. She is a longtime fan of the popular late artist Jimmy Buffett and his music, considering herself an avid Parrot Head.
