Holding considerable expertise in strategic planning, creative marketing, and social media and digital marketing, Megan A. Miller attributes much of her success to her internal drive along with her ability to see opportunities as they arise and setting goals for herself. She began her endeavors by earning a Bachelor of Science in marketing with a minor in voice performance from Palm Beach Atlantic University before joining Enactus, an organization for business students, at the University of St. Thomas as a business advisory board member from 2010 to 2012. During this time, she also served as an office and events coordinator for Future Productions and The College Agency from 2011 to 2012. Between 2012 and 2015, Ms. Miller spent time as the retail marketing account executive for NuEar and Starkey Laboratories, Inc., a senior digital marketing specialist and social media strategist for Townsquare Interactive and a senior ecommerce marketing analyst for Harris Teeter.
Ms. Miller went on act as the marketing director for Opera Carolina from 2015 to 2021 and returned to her work with Enactus, this time with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, from 2016 to 2020. Her time with Opera Carolina opened her eyes to how it was possible for her to do multiple things at one time and also gave her an opportunity to be creative outside of just office work. In 2018, she established her own consulting firm, Megan Miller Marketing LLC, and has continued to work with other firms as well, serving as marketing director and vice president of marketing with the Bogues Group from 2019 to 2021 and as the marketing director for Community Brewing Ventures since 2020. With Megan Miller Marketing, Ms. Miller is responsible for managing client accounts, keeping up to date with all their new projects, liaising with clients, and working on various creative marketing projects.
In addition to her marketing career, Ms. Miller has been a professional opera singer for 12 years and is affiliated with Opera America, Opera Carolina and the Minnesota Opera. Holding membership in the Gerson Lehrman Group and the North Mecklenburg Woman’s Club, she is very active in her local community and has donated her time to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, the animal care and control division of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, and the Denyce Graves Foundation. For her volunteer work, Ms. Miller was recognized as a Charlotte Standout by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 2017.
Having achieved much throughout the years, Ms. Miller considers what she accomplished as the marketing director for Opera Carolina to be among the highlights of her career. Furthermore, the opportunities she has had to mentor elementary and high school students have been incredibly rewarding on a professional level. In 2015, Ms. Miller was presented with the Women’s Achievement Award in Excellence by the National Association of Professional Women and featured in “People on the Move” by the Charlotte Business Journal.
