Lisa Gennaro is the owner and operator of No Place Like Home, Home Health, a home health services agency serving a large region that spans five counties. Overseeing a team of 25 certified nursing assistants, she employs her expertise in business operations, marketing, human resources, entrepreneurship, and client satisfaction to operate the business and offer vital assistance to her clients. Ms. Gennaro’s present success in home health services is a testament to her lifelong dedication to helping others and making a difference in her community. Once she secures the smooth, sustainable, and profitable operation of her home health business, she is considering running for office in the South Dakota state legislature to expand her impact and have a greater influence on her community.

Before her current endeavor, Ms. Gennaro was an account manager for Frontier Home Medical and NewStyle Medical Supplier, Inc., in Nebraska and Iowa. She was the owner and chief executive officer of NewStyle from 2003 to 2017 and relocated to South Dakota to care for her parents. This massive personal transition, coupled with her daughters’ graduation from high school, motivated Ms. Gennaro to embark on a new entrepreneurial journey in the home health sector. As a lifelong entrepreneur, she was the former owner of Nouvau, a pageant shop, for a decade, after which she worked as the first female sales representative with Custom Blenders in 1996. From 2001 to 2003, she was an account manager with ActivStyle.

Ms. Gennaro is a devoted and active member of her community and has remained dedicated to civic engagement throughout her life. From 1997 to 1998, she was a board member with the Nebraska State Legislature. Since 2017, she has served as the co-chair of public awareness for the South Dakota West River Human Trafficking Task Force in Rapid City. The task force serves as a collaborative entity of multiple constituent individuals and organizations and combats human trafficking by raising awareness, advocating for the prosecution of offenders, supporting victims, and promoting education.

Persevering through multiple setbacks, Ms. Gennaro attributes her accomplishments to her unshakeable faith in God. She also credits her mother’s constant encouragement for her persistence in pursuing her goals and is gratified to have seen her determination pay off. Ms. Gennaro is thankful for the support and wisdom of her professional mentors, who were instrumental in shaping her knowledge and developing her skill set. Among her achievements, she is proud of the success of her former durable medical equipment company, NewStyle Medical Supplier, which she founded and expanded to a 7,500-square-foot office and warehouse. Notably, she secured a business license in just two weeks, though the process typically takes more than half a year.

Ms. Gennaro’s remarkable and diverse professional career has been marked by multiple honors. In 1997, she was named Mrs. Nebraska America. She was honored as an admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska, an award which was presented by then-Nebraska Governor Michael Owen Johanns. For her entrepreneurial excellence, Ms. Gennaro also received recognition as Businesswoman of the Year.

In the future, Ms. Gennaro looks forward to the continued growth and impact of No Place Like Home, Home Health. She sees the business expanding to all states in the United States and hopes that her daughters will take over the company’s operation someday. Alongside her political aspirations, Ms. Gennaro aims to dedicate more time to her grandchildren, contributing to their growth and development and ensuring they become outstanding, thriving individuals. She takes great pleasure in spending time with her family as well as reading about history, hiking, and rock climbing.
