Ms. Foreman earned a Master of Science in rural sociology and community development and a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Maryland. She achieved a significant milestone as a member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America National Board, where she led a transformative realignment of scout councils, consolidating 330 local entities into 110. This monumental effort strengthened the organization and positioned it for long-term success.
Ms. Foreman also devoted over 20 years to Durham Public Schools in North Carolina, serving as an administrative specialist. During her tenure, she made substantial contributions to the growth and development of the institution, leveraging her expertise to enhance educational outcomes. Her work extended beyond the classroom as an adjunct faculty member at Reynolds Community College, where she shared her knowledge and passion for community development with students. Ms. Foreman’s influence reaches beyond education and scouting. She served as a site coordinator at the Research Triangle Regional Partnership, fostering collaboration and growth in the local community. Her dedication to service is further reflected in her active membership in the Olave Baden-Powell Society and her leadership roles within the Girl Scouts organization. Throughout her career, Ms. Foreman has received numerous accolades, including the Transformation to Greatness Award, Celebrate Women Award, and Community Impact Award. She also earned prestigious recognitions from the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, including the Thank You Badge and the Juliette Gordon Low World Friendship Medal, underscoring her exceptional contributions to the organization.
Ms. Foreman has lived in North Carolina for more than 30 years and enjoys spending time with her family, including her spouse, Dr. John Foreman, and their children, Matthew and Jennifer.
