Holding the key positions of principal at Spector Advisory Group and real estate adviser at COMPASS Florida LLC since 2019, Laurie Spector, JD, MBA, is a proven leader in the real estate sector. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she heads a dedicated team largely focused on Broward County. Her expertise encompasses residential and commercial properties, enabling her to guide a diverse clientele through complex real estate transactions.
Prior to changing her primary career focus to real estate, Ms. Spector devoted nearly 15 years to practicing law as in-house counsel for Marathon Petroleum Corporation. Concurrently, she gained experience as a realtor associate with Coldwell Banker and as assistant regional counsel with the Fourth District of Florida’s Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel. Committed to continued professional growth, she is certified as an accredited buyer’s representative, a luxury home marketing specialist, and a residential real estate probate specialist, as well as in supply chain management.
A significant milestone in Ms. Spector’s career occurred upon graduating from law school, when she faced the possibility of eviction due to her pets. Moreover, Ms. Spector has demonstrated leadership within industry organizations. She founded the Law Grads of COMPASS, a group that brings together 80-plus realtors at COMPASS with legal backgrounds to network and share insights with the company and each other. She also served as governor of the Miami Association of Realtors, state director of Florida Realtors, and secretary of the Broward Inn of Court. Additionally, she is active with the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Broward County Bar Association and the Gold Coast Master Brokers Forum.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Spector has volunteered with the Broward campus for American Heritage Schools, food pantries throughout Broward County, and beach cleanups organized by the Miami Association of Realtors. Further, she is an avid supporter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and has participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
