Lauren M. Jensen, founder, and public speaker at Corporate Unicorn, holds an Executive Master of Business Administration in customer innovation from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in communications from James Madison University. As a seasoned leader in management consulting, Ms. Jensen brings more than 27 years of expertise to her work, focusing on financial services, customer experience design, and digital journey transformation. She launched Corporate Unicorn in 2024 and has since expanded her portfolio to include other ventures in real estate and business consulting.
Ms. Jensen’s career began at Prudential Financial, where she started as an intern and rose through the ranks to become the head of business and customer impact for U.S. businesses. Her tenure at Prudential was marked by significant achievements, including the establishment of Pramerica Ireland, which created nearly 2,000 jobs. She also launched a service and technology center in El Paso, Texas, providing career opportunities to veterans and military spouses. After 27 years with Prudential, Ms. Jensen decided to transition from corporate life to entrepreneurship, driven by a desire for more independence and the freedom to innovate.
Ms. Jensen attributes much of her success to the values instilled in her by her parents, who taught her the importance of helping others, continuously learning, and embracing new opportunities. She credits her parents as lifelong mentors and acknowledges the role of mentors in guiding her career. Ms. Jensen approaches every challenge with resilience and sees obstacles as opportunities for growth. Her passion for hard work and her passion for living life fully were central to her achievements.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Jensen achieved a personal milestone by losing over 120 pounds, a feat she often shares to inspire others, particularly those in their late 40s, to reinvent themselves. She believes in the power of transformation at any stage of life, a philosophy that has also shaped her business endeavors.
In addition to Corporate Unicorn, Ms. Jensen owns two other businesses, Card My Yard and Moxie. Her businesses focus on providing management consulting services and creating employment opportunities in various sectors. As a disruptor and innovator, she continually seeks to expand her business ventures while enhancing customer experience and operational excellence.
Ms. Jensen actively supports charitable causes, including donations to the Westmont Montessori School, cancer charities, organizations that support women’s issues, and her alumni group. She has been recognized for her contributions and leadership, including being ranked #2 in the Top 100 New Jersey Female Executives by Women We Admire in 2021 and named Working Mother of the Year by Working Mother Magazine in 2014.
Over the next five to 10 years, Ms. Jensen aims to expand her real estate portfolio and continue building businesses that positively impact her community. She remains committed to creating opportunities for others and sharing her journey through public speaking engagements, discussing leadership, mental health, and women’s issues.
