Growing up, Katy K. Abraham loved to watch her father at work. He founded Construction Cost Management, Inc. (CCM, Inc.), in 1979, and always demonstrated a passion for construction and customer service. In 2012, Ms. Abraham decided to continue his efforts by buying and growing his business. As a professional estimator, she works with large architecture and engineering firms on projects like building and renovation and handles a lot of the sales and marketing. Ms. Abraham also manages a staff of 15. Notably, at Christmas, each employee gets to choose an organization that means something to them and then the company makes a donation in their honor.
To prepare for her endeavors, Ms. Abraham earned a Bachelor of Arts in business from the University of North Texas. She then garnered hands-on experience as an associate buyer at Bombay Co., the director of key accounts at Old World Design, an associate buyer at Tuesday Morning, an account manager and territory manager at Stallion Oilfield Services, an account executive of Lynden International and the retail district manager at Royal Canin. Additionally, she joined prominent organizations like the Society of American Military Engineers and the Association for Professional Women in Construction.
Looking to the future, Ms. Abraham hopes to continue growing CCM, Inc. The company will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and she is immensely proud of its longevity. Ms. Abraham attributes her success to surrounding herself with amazing people and to placing a high emphasis on client retention. She loves hearing from clients about the value her employees brought to their projects.
In recognition of her commitment to her professional community, Ms. Abraham was honored with the Fort Worth Small Business Excellence Award in 2017. Her business was also ranked 20th on ICIC’s 100 List.
