Elizabeth Oghenereke Omavuezi is a driving force in the health care industry, bringing nearly two decades of experience to her work.  Since 2017, she has excelled as the chief executive officer and owner of Omega Staffing Solutions Inc., where she oversees staffing services for individuals with mental and physical disabilities. Her responsibilities include collecting data from managers, supervising their activities, providing training, and ensuring adherence to individual service plans. Her leadership is rooted in the principles of servant leadership, always prioritizing the well-being of those she serves.

From 2013 to 2017, Ms. Omavuezi worked as a part-time caregiver in the United States, a role that reignited her deep passion for helping others. Her caregiving journey began in 2006 when she earned her certification as a caregiver in the United Kingdom. Between 2007 and 2013, she was associated with The Court of Appeal Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, where she developed a strong foundation in administration and leadership that would support her future endeavors.

Ms. Omavuezi’s educational background has been instrumental in her success. Her academic journey began in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and affairs from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma. In 2006, she obtained certification as a caregiver in the United Kingdom and went on to complete coursework for her master’s degree certification in international business and management in 2007. She earned a Master of Arts in international business and management from Solent University in the United Kingdom in 2009, followed by a postgraduate degree in qualifying Irish and English law with honors from Griffith College in Dublin, Ireland in 2014.

Reflecting on her path, Ms. Omavuezi has always had a deep-rooted passion for caregiving, inspired by experiences from her early childhood. Her unconventional career path has not only driven professional growth but also nurtured personal development, fostering an appreciation for life’s simplest necessities, such as sleep, clean laundry, soap, and running water.

Moreover, Ms. Omavuezi’s Nigerian heritage has also deeply influenced her professional journey. Raised by a father who was an accountant and a mother who was a lawyer, she learned the values of persistence and resilience from an early age. These principles have guided her throughout her career and continue to drive her forward. Her passion for giving back is evident in her involvement with organizations like the Mental Health Society.

Ms. Omavuezi finds the most rewarding aspect of her work to be supporting individuals with mental and physical disabilities. She values the opportunity to assist others without expecting anything in return and is especially fulfilled by helping clients live as independently and comfortably as possible. She also leverages her network of employees to provide additional aid to those in need.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Omavuezi is committed to civic engagement and philanthropy. She actively volunteers with organizations such as the American National Red Cross, Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority, and local schools. She also donates to charities supporting causes like the Special Olympics, cancer research, domestic violence survivors, and children in need.

In her personal life, Ms. Omavuezi is a devoted mother to two young children. She enjoys spending quality time with her family while also focusing on her own personal growth. Looking to the future, she aspires to obtain mental health certifications to raise awareness of global mental health issues and to advocate for affordable housing solutions for the individuals she serves. She is also working to create support systems for women and children affected by domestic violence, both locally and internationally.

Ms. Omavuezi’s long-term vision includes the development of comprehensive care systems for clients by integrating mentors and psychologists into new branches of her facilities. By collaborating with existing organizations, she aims to offer holistic mental health care services that provide meaningful support to both her clients and the broader community.

When advising aspiring professionals, Ms. Omavuezi emphasizes the power of belief, noting that all you need to do is imagine your dream. Once you can visualize your dream and manifest it in your mind, follow your path and do not let anyone discourage you. She believes that manifestation is the key, and that when you visualize your dream, you cannot go wrong. You can bring your dream or vision to reality by just showing up every day
