Dedicated to bridging Eastern and Western medicine for nearly three decades, Cloe Couturier is an expert in medical qigong (Chinese energetic medicine), CranioSacralQigong, osteopathy, and alternative therapeutics as the chief executive officer of Well and Aware, Inc., in Jupiter, Florida, and the author of “CranioSacralQigong Volume 1: Pathways To Consciousness Power,” available at booksellers worldwide. More than 25 years ago, she presented her work at the first American World Congress in Qigong, invited by the event’s founder Dr. Effie Chow, who along with Dr. John Upledger, helped her develop CranioSacralQigong. Ms. Couturier, also a qigong instructor, has been proudly practicing and developing her work since then as it continues to evolve.
Born in France, as a youth, Ms. Couturier dreamt of living in the U.S., where her father would visit during his global business travels and where she moved permanently at age 19. Another life-changing experience happened later for the mother of a daughter and a son. Her second child was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy when he was four, and doctors told her that he would not live past age 18. This prompted her to study osteopathy in England and France, giving her hope for her son’s condition beyond doctors’ prognoses. Ms. Couturier’s son graduated magna cum laude from college at 21 years old and lived a “good, normal life on his own,” she said, until he passed away at age 32. Up to that time, she practiced qigong for her son as well as for herself to have energy. Today, Ms. Couturier finds it incredibly rewarding to witness the positive results from treating her patients and clients, seeing them flourish over a period of years and benefit from the most ancient traditions in China merged with cutting-edge practices in the U.S.
Named a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Leader in 2023 and selected to be listed in the Palm Beach Post healthcare directory among top providers, Ms. Couturier graduated as a medical qigong doctor from the International Medical Qigong College in Tennessee and a diplomate specializing in craniosacral therapy and osteopath in France and England. She is a member of the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association, the National Qigong Association, the American Massage Therapy Association, the International Alliance of Healthcare Educators, and the Qigong Institute and has earned relevant certifications from the National Certification Center of Energy Practitioners, Upledger Institute International, the British College of Osteopathy and Alternative Therapeutics, and other qualifying organizations.
Since 2000, Ms. Couturier has worked at Well and Aware, Inc., and has been developing her registered trademark for CranioSacralQigong, a discipline she also has provided in her private practice since 1989. In addition, she has been a nationally certified instructor of advanced medical qigong since 1995 and an alternative and integrative medicine practitioner at the Upledger Institute International Association of Healthcare Practitioners since 1989. Previously, she was a manual medicine practitioner at Upledger Institute International. In the coming years, Ms. Couturier wants to continue to teach and empower people in the secrets of properly using to use their bodies and minds in the areas of discipline and energy conservation, as examples.
