Beth Carole Ring has built a highly respected career in customs and international trade law, known for her deep legal insight and dedication to client service. As a former senior partner at Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., she advised importers on a broad range of issues related to customs compliance, tariff classification, and trade agreements. Her guidance enabled clients to lawfully structure transactions, reduce duty exposure and prepare for audits or customs inquiries. In addition to resolving complex legal matters, she developed long-term strategies for clients seeking to expand their global sourcing options and navigate evolving trade regulations.
Ms. Ring’s academic achievements laid the foundation for her success in international trade law. She earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania after completing her undergraduate studies at the same institution, where she received a bachelor’s degree in history with high honors. Her commitment to expanding her legal knowledge included specialized coursework in European Community Law at The Hague Academy of International Law and Vrije Universiteit Brussels. This combination of domestic and international legal education helped shape her global outlook and supported her effective advocacy in cross-border trade matters.
Prior to joining Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, Ms. Ring gained valuable experience at another firm, where she advanced quickly through the ranks. When two of her colleagues from that firm left to form Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, she joined them thereafter as a partner and helped establish the firm’s New York office. Her early involvement proved instrumental in the firm’s growth and continued prominence in the field. Over the course of her tenure, she became not only a legal strategist but also a respected leader and mentor.
Ms. Ring found particular satisfaction in mentoring junior lawyers, fostering a culture of professional development and collaboration. She regularly shared her knowledge through webinars and in-person seminars, offering practical insights on trade compliance and customs law to clients and industry peers. Her seminars, including those held both domestically and internationally, reflected her commitment to education and outreach long before remote learning became the norm.
Ms. Ring’s professional affiliations underscore her longstanding engagement with the trade and legal communities. She has been a member of several influential organizations, including the Customs and International Trade Bar Association, where she served on the board of directors for 20 years, the American Apparel & Footwear Association, the American Association of Exporters and Importers and the National Committee on American Foreign Policy. Her participation in these groups reflects her dedication to both staying informed and contributing to the broader conversation around international trade policy.
Outside of her professional work, Ms. Ring served on the board of the New Leadership Division of the State of Israel Bonds organization, and the 50th Reunion Committee of her class at University of Pennsylvania. She regularly contributed to the Journal of Commerce and other publications.
Looking ahead, she plans to remain engaged by serving on corporate boards and participating in charitable and volunteer initiatives. She credits much of her professional success to the opportunity to work alongside talented colleagues and emphasizes the importance of teamwork, integrity and perseverance throughout her career.
