Guided by a strong work ethic and refusal to cut corners to complete projects, Ashlea Bullington has accrued more than a decade of professional experience in television production, commercial storytelling, and digital content creation through her business. Since 2020, she has excelled as the founder and owner of BullRose Productions, a quickly prominent digital media company that helps brands find their voice through high-impact video content and eye-catching graphics and photography. In this capacity, she works with businesses and creators to bring ideas to life, specializing in producing and editing podcasts, directing commercial shoots, building marketing strategies, and crafting brand identities that resonate.
As a testament to her business acumen, Ms. Bullington achieved a six-figure revenue in her first full year of operation. This success validated the leap of faith she took to start her own business despite obstacles, and bolstered her pride in building a venture that genuinely cares about client success, setting her apart from other production companies in her field.
Ms. Bullington grew up in a hardworking entrepreneurial family, from which she fostered many of the qualities that led to her later success. Her parents have owned a medical billing business since she was born in 1992, with her mother starting the business while on bedrest during her pregnancy. The business has since grown to include 29 locations across the United States. With an interest in sports and communication, she attended Texas Christian University, where she played soccer and pursued a double degree in sports broadcasting and mass communication, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science in 2013.
During and directly after her studies, Ms. Bullington ingratiated herself in the sports media field, with internships and work opportunities at ESPN Sports Southwest, Fox Sports, and numerous other sports networks, including MLB and MLS. She served as a color commentator for TCU Women’s Soccer in 2013 and a host and emcee for the Kansas City Royals in 2014. However, a pivotal moment occurred while working as a general news reporter at a television station in Louisiana: challenging assignment in a dangerous neighborhood and workplace discrimination prompted her to freelance work with ESPN on weekends. A mentor at ESPN, though, recognized her potential when she demonstrated knowledge about production equipment and connected her with the American Sports Network, launching her role as a production coordinator—in which she developed her technical skills in shooting, editing, motion graphics, and design—and a whole new career that she continues to thrive in today.
In the years leading up to starting BullRose Productions, Ms. Bullington found success as a digital content specialist and reporter at ESPN from 2016 to 2020, while lending her skills as a podcast host and fashion specialist for VOKALmedia and a producer for GameDay Productions, where she found success from 2018 to 2022.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ms. Bullington has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic engagement through numerous volunteer initiatives. She provides social and digital media services for the Granbury Volunteer Fire Department, where her father and brother both work part-time. In addition, she volunteers video production work for Fort Worth Friends of Animal Care and Control, creating content for the organization’s North Texas Giving Day campaigns. Most significantly, she is involved with the Texas West Lane Football mentor program, which she considers equally important to her business success. In that capacity, she helps mentor young athletes—many of whom come from single-parent homes or disadvantaged backgrounds—professionally, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
As her career evolves, Ms. Bullington strives to expand her company and client base. She hopes to transform some of her production work into a larger venture focused on expanding the Spanish-language podcast space in collaboration with a specialized production company. Additionally, she is committed to enhancing her skills and knowledge to remain at the forefront of her industry. Currently, she is developing a podcast network that fosters collaboration among businesses, with ambitions of increasing its offerings to 10 podcasts by the year’s end.
