April Danos

April O. Danos is a recognized leader in the maritime industry, known for her forward-thinking approach and extensive expertise in technology and operations. Since 2023, she has excelled as vice president and senior grants manager at OD Grant Solutions LLC (ODGS), where she specializes in helping ports shape their projects in a way that positions them for successful grant funding.

In her role, Ms. Danos works directly with clients, helping them manage their budgets, navigate financial decisions, and ensure their documentation meets compliance standards. She often assists with writing or reviewing proposal requests, ensuring they align with federal regulations. She also leads training sessions on key compliance topics. Beyond her client work, she is deeply involved in growing the business and building strong relationships.

Moreover, Ms. Danos stays actively engaged in the industry through her involvement with organizations like the National Grants Management Association and the American Association of Port Authorities. She is also passionate about giving back to the community, serving as a ministry leader for the Celebrate Recovery program, which gives people the resources and relationships to help find a new way of living.

Before stepping into her current role, Ms. Danos worked as a maritime information security systems engineer at Stephenson Technologies Corporation from 2020 to 2023, where she used her technical expertise to strengthen maritime security systems and support key company goals. Prior to that, she served as director of homeland security and technology at the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, a role she held until 2020. There, she led efforts to enhance port security and drive forward technological advancements in the field.

Ms. Danos’s career began at the Greater Lafourche Port Commission in 1996, where she initially served as a temporary receptionist before advancing to lease administrator, and laid an academic foundation with an Associate of Science degree in office systems technology from Louisiana Technical College, obtained in 1996.

One of Ms. Danos’ proudest accomplishments was being selected as chair of the National Maritime Security Advisory Committee, which provides advice on strategy and policy to ensure safe transportation at sea and ports. She has since reapplied in hopes of continuing her work with the committee. She attributes her success to the unwavering support of her family and the opportunities she had at Port Fourchon, which helped shape her career in the maritime industry.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Danos treasures time with her two daughters and grandchildren and values the strong family bonds that keep her grounded. Looking to the future, she is focused on growing OD Grant Solutions and continuing to help ports and maritime professionals reach their goals and make a lasting impact in the industry.
