Amanda Johnson’s stellar career reflects a dynamic blend of entrepreneurship, dedication to education and a commitment to community service. In 2025, she launched Cowboy This, LLC, a boutique and print shop in Decatur, Texas that offers custom-designed shirts, tumblers and trucker hats. In her present position, she manages both storefront and online sales, meets clients for order pickups and remains responsible for all aspects of the shop’s operations. She is especially proud of opening Cowboy This debt-free, which she considers one of her greatest achievements in business.
Mrs. Johnson’s expertise in style and fashion is rooted in childhood interests and has grown through years of industry experience, including her time as a member of a fashion advisory board for two shopping malls during her teenage years. Her boutique has been recognized as the Best of Business Rate 2025 in Decatur and has garnered many positive Google Reviews.
In addition to her entrepreneurial pursuits, Mrs. Johnson has dedicated more than two decades of service to the Keller Independent School District. Since 2013, she has excelled as the financial payment applications coordinator, where she oversees point-of-sale systems, manages credit card transactions, handles bank reconciliations and trains new finance staff on purchasing protocols and budget coding. Her role also includes teaching high school business classes focused on managing school stores, visiting four to five campuses each year to guide students through practical business experiences. Prior to this position, Mrs. Johnson worked as the bookkeeper for Keller High School from 2010 to 2013, responsible for financial record-keeping and administrative support at the campus level.
Mrs. Johnson served at Keller High School as registrar from 2006 to 2010, where she managed student records and enrollment processes. In 2006, she was active as purchasing secretary, handling procurement tasks for the aforementioned district. Mrs. Johnson began her tenure with Keller Independent School District in 2003 as a data clerk at Fossil Ridge High School, supporting data management functions until 2006.
Throughout her career in education administration and finance, Mrs. Johnson has achieved rapid promotions by implementing new programs and procedures that have improved district operations. Her innovative thinking and strong work ethic have led colleagues to invite her collaboration on various projects.
Mrs. Johnson has likewise maintained her affiliation with such organizations as the Texas Association of School Business Officials and the Decatur Chamber of Commerce. These connections keep her informed about industry trends and provide opportunities for continued growth.
Mrs. Johnson’s academic background includes completing coursework at Tarrant County College and graduating with a diploma from Keller High School in 1987. She also obtained her credentials as a certified Texas school business official, which has supported her advancement within the school district and contributed to her expertise in finance, purchasing and budget management.
Mrs. Johnson attributes her success to a strong work ethic inherited from her father, goal-oriented perseverance and an openness to collaboration with friends and colleagues when facing challenges or launching new ventures. She values time with family and friends as well as relaxing by floating the river or visiting lakes and beaches. With two daughters and one stepson, family remains central to her life outside of her professional obligations.
Mrs. Johnson is actively involved in civic organizations and volunteer activities. She supports the Cowboy Youth Bull Riders Association as a volunteer. A member of Crafton Baptist Church, her community engagement also includes volunteering with 8 Seconds to Glory at Wise County Cowboy Church. She has contributed to youth sports as U6 boys soccer commissioner and U6-U9 girls soccer coach for the Keller Soccer Association, girls indoor soccer coach at Arena Athletics, and a coed soccer coach with the YMCA. Looking ahead, Mrs. Johnson aims to promote Cowboy This further with the intention of generating profits that will establish a scholarship fund for the Cowboy Youth Bull Riders Association.
